Hello guys,
I just flashed MikRom v3 into my HTC EVO with the Blue Glass Theme. Everything seems to work just fine except for MMS. Internet, Text and talk work with no issues but no picture message. I flashed MetroPCS Evo Sense 4.53 Based MMS Script v3 yet notthing. Also did the
Provisioning your HTC EVO For MetroWeb still notthing. Please someone help. Can I flash any rom I want and have MMS work or could I only use MetroDroid? That is the only rom I had have luck with everything working but its to plan looking. I want a custom look.

With metrodroid you don't need the scripts. But yes you can flash any Rom then flash the script for that build. However the scripts weren't working right for a while. I was having to flash the 3.0 sense script from mdiaz on xda then the script by bloody for your Rom it worked for me everyrime.
I read that wrong. Flash that 3.0 script I was talking about then the hybrid that worked for me on Mik3.0

I would like to thank the people that took the time to reply to my messages. I know there are a lot of MMS fix out there and I am adding one more that worked for me after having no luck I just started checking all my phone settings and this is what I came up with. I used this on a EVO 4G running MikG 3.0. I flashed the MetroPCS Evo Sense 3.0v1 script and it worked. You may have to re-boot phone again after you flash script. Please let me know if this was helpful to anyone esle.

1.Go to your message icon as if you were going to send a message.
2.From there go into settings, Multimedia message (MMS), then Connections settings. Make sure they look like this. Once done get out and do step 3.
3. Go to your phone pad and dial ##3282#. Then go to Edit Mode. Password should be 00000, then go to Advanced and make sure setting are set like pictures below.

thanks for the thread! really informative for someone like me just starting out in the root world. i didnt see any mention about cdma download links (it seems somewhat taboo?...)
i downloaded the demo of cdma workshop and was told (on another forum) that the paid/crack wasn't needed in order to flash prls. however, after the cdma demo was downloaded, the prl (3026) i had downloaded was not able to be read. am i missing something? is there a link to a known live cracked cdma? i looked for an hour or so yesterday, and i found a lot of dead links.

All of the cdma workshops(cracked) are old versions. If your just trying to update prl use cdmatool or qpst.

Thanks for that. And I'm real glad to see we're no longer stuck at 1X on Metro, I knew it was only a matter of time, till someone found a way around it.
But, in programming the phone, all the copies of CMDA Workshop (cracks included), I've come across excepting the "Demo", flag my virus protection (AVG), which then kills they're use. Even after shutting it down, Windows XP, gives me an "Access" issue, that I've not found a work around for, yet (seems to want administrative access rights).
The CMDA Workshop Demo, works fine for the most part, but, it only allows so many usages, before it says "the demo's trial period has expired", arrghhh.
Seems to me, since most of the Android phones OS's, are Linux based, shouldn't we be looking for a Linux based programming solution, to talk to, and reprogram them?
I'm glad at least you've located another program application, to get this much of the operation done, but, where might we find a copy of Cmdatool to try?
Never mind, google is my friend today, it's located as a free download, at cdmatool.com/. Don't know what they charge for their work, but, the manual is there filly documented. Registery isn't required to download, but, advisable for support and updates.

Yea cdmatool is nice and you can use it for everything you would need it for in demo mode. It's like a 700 dollar program if you wanted to buy it so you could do stuff like flash to boost which involves stuff with the esn..esn is the only thing you can touch in free mode. As for a Linux based program I don't even know of one all are windows programs. That I know of anyways. Some people are still stuck at 1x though. I've been trying to get it since October and only saw a 3g icon for a couple hours one day and when I tried a new prl lost it and haven't seen it since. I'm working on a fix though hopefully I can figure it out.
Oh I forgot you have to disable all anti virus stuff to use those programs it detects WLAN_spy or something so it won't connect you . Make sure and release the ports disable then try again.

It's fine for now that these Windows programs run in "Demo mode", but, surely they too will flip the switch, and it stop working (banking on it, at the most inconvenient of times).
As many of you are aware of, the lack of Linux apps for this, is one of my favorite wines, boarding on a rant.
I'm sure if a few more Linux people would get involved (even if only compartmentalized to individual apps), it would bring these Windows programs, down to a more reasonable cost (given most open source apps, &, their repositories are free, not to mention virus free).
How far & fast would this hobby have advanced, without Demos & Cracks? The time is now for development, cause we're really living on borrowed time.

With as fast as android has grown I'm sure more and more people are switching to Linux so I'm sure it won't be long before we see some programs like those that run on Linux.

i am not sure what i am missing, but here is where i am stuck:
i have a couple prls (3026 and 3025..tried both) and i followed the mikekelso-cdma w.s. prl_update vid exactly- however, once cdma w.s. "writes" the prl, it doesn't show as updated on my phone. i'm not sure what to do from here....i feel like if you're reading this, you just sighed...sorry...quite nooby

ok. got my prl updated. used this link- MetroPCS Latest PRL -and dfs. i believe i did not properly open/close my ports when using the cdma workshop method from mkelso's video.

i assume it is ok to change these settings manually. i have a couple discrepancies. (MNC= 00)- (HTTP & RTSP Proxy addresses both read a sprintpcs.com address)

Try wiping cache and dalvik in recovery. My mms works flawlessly,I actually used iyblke 3 times Justin today. I can't speak for Skype though. Have u tried gtalk video chat?

and since more and more people are moving to metro with rooted phones (lots of evos too,) your thread will be a great resource. it's helped me a ton.
