Root [MetroPCS] Found new root method

I did the Metro PCS software update to MS50010i and lost root. I used the root method Tokenpoke (not his root method or work FYI) suggested we use and works. I tried to use that method to root again and I didn't root. I also tried MotoChopper and it also didn't root.

I rooted my updated phone with the Saferoot: Root method which is on the LG Optimus F3 root section.

Hopefully this helps for anyone who lost root after Metro PCS update.
 
If you can get an adb remount and an adb root on your phone (using adb on your computer), you can root any phone the same way. Exploits (one-click roots) are only really needed for phones you can't use adb on.

Downloaded it but haven't got the phone yet.... :confused:

Yea... I'd rather use abd but need to learn the commands etc.

I haven't messed with my f6 in weeks so I didnt know there was an update.

Also, I make it pretty clear that I dont have anything to do with the things I post, I just find them and let people know.

GOT the phone and its a keeper.

Have been doing some investigating and a rummer has it that kingoapp app may be malware to get your suff.
That might be a jealous competitor spreading "stuff."

I don't know if or if NOT.

So IF I was to use it....

I'd make sure that I was NOT connected to DATA or WIFI, and un-install exe, registry clean, than CClean, right after "root."

Better safe than sorry!

Suggest a link for the "noob way" to do that ..... as I just be getting over some "Terminal" fear that I used to have. LOL

I really do want to learn that method.
 
Hello everyone, coming from the Esteem to this phone. I just bought it last night and it automatically updated to the latest version MS50010i. SO I'm trying to find the easiest root method. Thanks to all who have posted all the info.

Running on LG F6 MS500101i
I tried saferoot 4 times no root
Tried framaroot 5 times no root

Did the dangerous Kangaroot but disconnected phone from wifi, and data on phone, and disconnected F6 form PC and uninstalled their app.

But GOT "root" from that.

They probly selling my IMEI to Target.

I bet saferoot would have worked on MS500101e.

All who have MS500101i should give a try.

I won't update no more, as every time a new version comes out the "rooters" that were working don't work any longer.

I'd flash back to the earlier version if it wouldn't brick my phone. Maybe ICS .... nice and tiny. Till a detoxed Custom ROM is out.

The service providers / manufacturers don't really like us really "rooting" their devices.
