Root [MetroPCS] [Guide] ROOTING THE OPTIMUS F6 And Recovery!

Question????.i woke up today with my metro f6 is trying to do a system update. Will i lose root if it goes through? Been worried cuz im still on the 10i
Its 39.4mb and wont install cuz my battery is to low, and thats where im keeping it till i know what to do. Ty
 
Np. Ive been thanking the shit out of them. And jinxed myself same time. Made a comment about getting everything just right and something will happen to cell. Well hopefully wont but this upgrade pops up all the time. Now i need to figure how to make it stop. I can see somone picking my cell up and helping me out by pushing install.
 
Worked great ty. It also scared the #%!@ out of me on reboot.. it said system updating .. it was apparently the apk. app i put in system folder and not the real system upgrade. Everytings ok and the same. Thank you
 
Has anyone heard anything about gettting around and/or unlocking the bootloader? I'm not very familiar with them, I've been hitting dead ends on this.

I may just end up buying a new phone that's not so "Locked up" but, I just bought this phone in FEB. So I'm trying to hold out until I can actually afford a few hundred dollars for a new phone.
 
So its a waiting game until our phone gods create a root and unlocked bootloader for 12b i guess, i also would love a hotspot workaround. Metropcs wont let me have mobile hotspot because im on the unlimited plan, what a joke! And thank you to our friends that make roots and all else, seriously you guys have skill!
 
I updated my phone to 12b yesterday, i just bought this phone 4 days ago. if i do a factory reset will it take away the 12b update? Wish i would have known

No , if you do a factory reset you will lose all your data, settings, etc, then your phone would look like new, but in firmware 12b, because fr just erase data and still same firmware.
 
rumor has it that angablade is working on a one clikc root for 12b also his prerooted rom will be fixed sometime this weekend
 
use kdz if you do though you can always root with the root method that has been posted by myself and nirhazine for 12b you can find all the info on using kdz on that thread as well
 
So I install it onto my computer, and then connect my phone? So will it get rid of the firmware I have now? I am a noob, and I appreciate all the help.
