MetroPCS LG STYLO 2 PLUS

From my understanding, the Stylo and the Stylus are one in the same phone. LG named the international version Stylus, and for some reason (marketing, focus group studies, etc.) they decided to name it the Stylo in the States. It is also known as the LG G4 Stylus, but with the specs scaled down so much in some regions my guess is they wanted to market it as a different phone completely and dropped the "4" in G4. This was the case with the first version and is my assumption for the second version as well.

Hi,
The Stylus two had two variants and I do not know the specs right off hand but a quick Google search will tell you they are two different phones from the Stylo.
I have already confirmed this since purchasing the Stylo 2 Plus last week. The Stylus already exist in some markets here already, they will sell for 300 for the 16Gig and 400 for the 32gig.... Prices are expected but subject to change.

You say some markets "here". Where?

You are absolutely correct. I have couple friends who works in LG USA office in Fort Worth, TX. One of them told me Stylo is basically cheaper version of G4.

Hey.. Just got gifted with the stylo 2 plus.. Any ideas if there will be any developments for? So far..so good

I know the specs suck.. but.. compared to my old one it's fast as hell

The specs are fine. Even the OG Stylo packed enough power to make it totally worth the $150 I paid for it. That said, after rebates the St2 is nicely priced. Never a problem with running downloaded apps, just system UI and some hardware were crap. And I love the camera, hopefully they used the same one for the 2nd Stylo.

The problem is, buying an LG is like buying a new Chrysler; put a few miles on it and sh!t starts breaking on you. Only LG phone I've had where everything worked 110% was the Leon. Except for that glass tho.... Just doing a long press function shatters the glass on those phones lol... They just can't get it right.

Still waiting to hear from a few more. I've heard people say the Coolpad Quattro was the most amazing phone ever :)

Forget the hype. I feel kinda let down by the two Stylos I bought.

I think I'll wait to see if @viperdink and @Bard end up with one before I even think about it lol...

Recently I got caught by manager / network admin developing android stuff while at work (ouch!!).

I was repoing MM source and network admin gave me warning (large continuous traffic) and reported to my manager. Luckily nothing serious happened and I wrote simply apology letter. But I am staying low very low lol -_-;;

you forgot to add the follow

* Snapdragon 430 - Octacore - 1.4 Ghz
* Adreno 505

just that alone is a huge upgrade from the last Stylo...

Maybe so. But if it ends up having little or no dev support, that's just wasted potential.

EDIT: And I still think it should have had 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage as a true successor to the original Stylo.

I'm praying for dev support.. Although realistic and coping with non root status.. Any helpful tips since.. This phone will likely get no love?.. I've disabled greenified...changed to Nova.. Got a volume boost and a few 3rd party apps to numb the blow.. But hey.. It was a gift

I'm not getting this phone but what volume booster are you using? The ones I have tried have too many ads even w/an ad blocker.

Volume Booster.. And it had mad ads but you only see email when you adjust it initially.. So all in all not bad

I am SO glad too have found this thread before pulling the trigger on the Stylo 2 Plus (LG link). I have always felt that LG builds large appliances (microwave, fridge, heat pump) pretty well but I am a bit skeptical about any of their phones.

I like the
Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 MSM8937 Octa-core processor (Qualcomm link) and Gorilla Glass 3 Screen Protection (Corning link). It is curious why LG apparently chose not to use GG3 in the Stylo 2 (non-Plus). The LG spec page just says "Large 5.7" HD TFT Display". LG Stylo 2 (LS775) for Boost (LG link).

My main concern is with the 16 gb of internal memory. I have read that after factoring in all of the Google apps (which I mostly DO NOT USE) I will be left with approx. 9 gb. I don't take a ton of photos or play games, watch movies or listen to music etc. No Twatter-ing either. What with Google and Facebook et al constantly pumping out weekly updates I am concerned that the internal memory will be quickly used up.

Btw, I will be using Metro's $30 plan in the Seattle-area. The coverage map should be fine. I will probably use 3G for surfing when away from home and WiFi at home. The out-the-door price for the Stylo 2 Plus is $179, which includes a screen protector and case from my local MetroPCS store.
