Hi Everyone.

Has anyone figured out a method to root the new Metro PCS GS4 (SGH-M919N)?

I am unsure if the T-Mobile instructions will work for the new Metro PCS Version.

Please advise.

Thanks.

if you could send us the build.prop from system/ that would determine which method works. also u will notice not alot of gs4 users yet since they only released in selected cities.

use cf-root from the tmobile variant and if you could be so kind as to send me the build.prop. ill need the ril later but for now to get working on that device i need just teh build.prop :)

Oh okay, sorry. As soon as someone posts instructions on how to root this device, I will do so, reinstall my root File Manager app and grab it for you. Unless you are 100% sure that the cf root instructions for the Tmobile GS4 will work?

I can do that right now, but are you sure that it is safe on the Metro PCS variant (aside from the normal risks that go with all rooting)

Okay, I trust you. Your stats look like you know what your talking about.

Rooting now, standby for build.prop info.

PLEASE try to stay available though in case something goes wrong and I need help.

Ive rooted several phones several times and never had an issue (including with the GS3) but because this isnt specific to my device Im a little nervous.

Downloading files now, but your sure this is cool even though it says this:

"5) The CF-Auto-Root file works only on Samsung Galaxy S4 (T-Mobile) SGH-M919. Applying this on any incorrect variant will brick the device. Verify the model number of the Galaxy S4 by navigating to Settings >> About Phone."

I am getting a good chuckle from jrvasey. Thanks man. ;)

I can barely spell roote.

If I were trying to root my $600 phone my sphincter would be Seriously twitching. :D

lol ocalfl!!! Ive done this before but Im scared $hitl3$$ this time, only because its not specific instructions to the specific device.

I stated on my post if u navigate to system/ you will see a file named build. prop there. And yes u need a file manager app such as es file manager.

Guys, Ive got the build.prop file in its entirety but Ive been having major network issues in my office all day. If you can wait Ill post it later but if you provide me an email address ills end it to you immediatley. Right now though it just wont olet me post an attachment

Evidently, I do not have the required amount of posts to be allowed to post attachments. if someone could please provide me an email address here or email my gmail account jrvasey I will send it to them directly and then maybe they could post it here for everyone else who wants it
