Root [MetroPCS] need help with link2sd

Just got a 32gb microsd for this phone hoping to relieve its insufficient storage downfall.

I partitioned my 32gb in two partitions (fat32 and ext4). Got the pro version link2sd and recreate mount to the ext4 partition and reboot. I can create links on apps that I already have on the phone's very small internal storage. The issue is downloading/installing new apps from the play store.

When I tried getting mlb baseball or gta, it said "insufficient storage." There's no way I can free up enough space on this phone's internal and then transfer manually to the sdcard's partition. I even tried partitioning as ext2 instead of ext4 but still doesn't work.

Has anyone got link2sd to work? Am I missing something in the link2sd setting for play store apps to go to new partition? Am I doing something wrong or does link2sd not work for this phone?

Does getting apps from play store not automatically go to the new partition with link2sd?

Thanks for any help!

You have to use the this guide, AppToExternal

Thanks Trevor. Unfortunately, I was hoping for a less drastic method but I guess I'll eventually have to cave in. With link2sd, I was able to clear about 800mb on phone storage but still not enough for some big games.

Sucks that even after moving the game to sd card, when it does its initial data download it still goes to phone storage. :(

I think getting the pro edition can help with the data still going into the internal storage, i haven't tried yet so i'm not sure

It doesn't help those games that use large obb files. Best bet is link2sd and foldermount pro. Even then some games won't install from the play store because the phone memory is smaller than the game size. Those you have to mess around with side loading and manually locating the obb files and creating folders etc...

It's the only real Achilles heel to this phone. Even eight gigs would totally eliminate the issue with judicious use of link2sd and foldermount.

I have the pro version. Unless, I'm missing something in the settings, it doesn't move it simultaneously while the game is doing its initial download.

Shoot, I'll even take 2gigs just so that it can do its game install and then I can just move it. lol

Use the other link2sd thread that i posted above to download large games, i have San Andreas installed AND THE OBB goes directly into the sdcard

When I partitioned my old Sammy Precedent,I went in to the CWM and created a 4gb. partition for internal storage,Have you tried this?

I have LG Optimus F6 MetroPCS rooted.
I have installed the link2sd, but it gives an error when I want to move the app to SD Card "App2SD is not supported by your device. Because your device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage. You can link the app in order to move its files to your SD card."
I have a 32GB SD card. I think my internal storage has been partitioned to 2 drives, which the second one is as an external storage.
Does it solve with installing Kitkat? Or I have to link the apps (which I don't know how)? Or there is a better way?

Isn't there a way to change the default download folder when d/l apps from the store? Another method is to download it on your pc plug ur phone in and manually move the file to your external drive and install app using and root explorer.
