MetroPCS samsung galaxy s4

-------------UPDATE---------------
So yesterday i went to the Metropcs corporate store in Cambridge, few blocks away from Harvard University lol.
Walk in, pretty empty store, had phones for display, both dummies and working models.
There was only 3 'Sales reps' all women in their 20s, mind you there was a total of about 10 work stations/POS computers in the entire store.
I only waited 2 minutes before being called upon,
I was very polite and explained myself thoroughly since the very beggining to avoid any confusion.
I asked the Rep 2 things, beforehand
1. Do you have the S4 in stock -Answer Yes
2. Do you have MPCS SIM cards for sale for the BYOD program -Answer yes
I then explained to her that i wanted to upgrade to the s4 but wasnt sure of how to do it, if with the phone i had in my hand(brand new TMo s4) through BYOD ofcourse, or just buy the MPCS s4
She told me both options were possible, although she did give me the verbal waiver about BYOD 'This is still under development, there could be a chance you might not receive 4G at times, basically its not guaranteed to work flawless 100%' i then asked her more about BYOD and she said you pop the SIM and the IMEI on the system and that was it, i asked her if she had seen any BYOD customers come back and report issues with their phones, she said 'no, but i still have to warn you'.
i said cool, asked her what each option would cost me,
For BYOD on the Tmo s4 it would be $10(nonrefundable for the sim) + $15 Upgrade fee for a Total of $25
If i went and bought the MetroPCS s4 it woulda been $549(MSRP) + Taxes & fees would come out to $599
i did the math,
if i went with the Tmo s4 it runs me $587+25= $612
if i went with the MPCS s4 it was $599
For a $13 difference and a 100% working warranty, i told her i'd buy an s4
2 minutes later she came back with the sealed 'wooden' box, opened the box infront of me..battery sim...the works
Then she asked me for my acct info, i gave it to her, and it was all going smoothly, i even held it in my hand for a few moments, she rang me up, i payed with my debit card i got my receipt and just waited as she 'got to work'
10 minutes go by and i see she goes and calls the fatass bitch that was 'in charge'
Long story short, they couldnt get it done since according to them, they couldnt pick a plan and do it with my account since it was a FL phone number, and 'FLORIDA DOESNT HAVE IT YET'
I told her i knew it could be done since i knew of people who went to other states and got their phones and went back home with them no issue, they said 'no no no'
i then realized i could've opened up a new acct on the $40 plan and just walk with it, then figure it out when i got home, but at that point, not only was i running late for my flight, i was truly shocked at how incompetent and unprofessional these 3 women were, and how the 'manager' was wearing a T-shirt.
I realized they werent gonna be able to figure it out and get it done so no point or time in getting upset, and i wasnt about to pay another ~$50 to have the phone 3 weeks earlier, and then have to deal with an indian rep over *228 to connect it on my account back home, so she gave me a refund, and i left, not mad really, just shocked at how this could possibly be a 'Corporate store' and a little part of me did wish there had been a knowledgeable rep inside who couldve sold me the phone. I felt a bit pathetic to be busting such missions to connect a phone to the point where i was 20 mins away from missing my flight.
The phone IS COMING and thats what matters, right? lol
then i started thinking if $600 was worthit on a phone thats been out for almost 4 months now, lol

Anyways i might still be getting it since the Battery on my s3 is messed up, and my screen is shattered into a million pieces.
lol ill upload some pics of the phone and my receipt later on.

I disagree with your assessment of that store. (I'm sure you're shocked. )

IMO what they did in the end WAS knowledgeable, it was YOU in went in with the unrealistic expectations.

Think about it.

IMO, it sounds to me like the clerks were probably going DEAD ON Mothership instructions. (Now, I'd think maybe even MORE Dead On if they'd stopped the process AS SOON as they saw your home address was in Florida in their system. <At least without a real good explanation from You.>)

You, me and Everyone Here KNOWS that what you were Trying To Do is NOT the way Metro wants things to run Right Now. WE ALL KNOW that would be the official Mothership answer if asked them on Faceplant.

But you have a problem with the store because They Won't buck company policy Just For You. Sounds to me like the store isn't the one with the problem here.

Sure we have heard of instances where people got it done. I'd suggest that the stores that DID that DID NOT follow company procedures. Now, if you were Slick and had the time there was One way you might have tried to make it work. That would be to have gone in with the story that you were moving and had them give you a Boston number. That would have at least made "company sense" as they would have done it under the assumption you'd use the phone in a perfectly okiedokie BYOD New GSM area, THEIRS. (I don't know but I'd STRONGLY SUSPECT that's Exactly How the guys who have gotten this done did it.)

You are trying to circumnavigate the system and You Did It in the one way that would SCREAM that the loudest. Trying to keep your Florida number when you're trying to do the deal 1100 miles from there.

I'm just a Little surprised that You'd be surprised it didn't work...

Wow what an ordeal. You ended up going to Boston with the chance of getting the Metro GS4 and you had to leave empty handed. Wow that must be really frustrating to say the least. Too bad things didn't go as you planned. All we can do now is wait until the phone and the program is available in Florida. Hopefully we only have to wait a few more weeks.

Thanks for sharing your unfortunate story lol. You will have a better story to tell in the coming weeks.

arent you and a bunch of others trying to get metro to keep your grandfathered plans in the new tmobile billing system? :P

IMO not even close to the same thing from few different angles.

He's slightly perturbed at A STORE because they won't buck Company Policy for him. Those of us who are pissed about the Grandfather deal are (at least in my case) taking it up with the people We Should Be taking it up with, Das Mothership.

It HAS BEEN usual Metro policy in the past to make you pay more for better technology BUT they've also Grandfathered in prior plans to 4G BEFORE, *THAT PRECEDENT* is the ground WE stand on. Stunt is simply trying to Get Around the Mothership's current policy/system.

We GrandGripers are also going on the fact that Metro said, "They'll be no changes to your plans, you can keep them." While legally a correct statement, it's pure ass smarmy because THEY KNEW they were going to charge you More for the Same plan. They Never Said the plan prices wouldn't change, they just IMPLIED that.

Last, "our" differing is ONLY a Money matter. Not an Operational Matter. Metro is limiting the rollout on the new network so they can keep track of how it's going and the problems that crop up. That's the SMART way IMO to do it. Yes, I understand we have members who want the S4 but getting it and trying to make it work before the system is ready for it ISN'T the same as complaining about a price change.

Good try though Shabby! :D (Ewww, off and to the right... :p )
