MetroPCS samsung galaxy s4

Some of us have $40 unlimited unthrottled plans, Been on it since 2011 or so, at that time when the esteem came out the 4G was not as expensive
That is a significant change. I would hate to see that plan go, if I had it, just for upgrading phones.

Also, for those that have seen the GS4 at a Metro store, the only model they offer is the white model correct? In the website, it's also the white model. If that's the case, I think I may end up getting the black model at T-mobile since its a phone I plan to have for a very long time and I want to have the version I'll be happiest with, even I have to pay $30 for it through T-Mobile.

As I understand it, when the GS4 arrives in Florida through Metro, the BYOD program will roll out at the same time. Correct?

When I stated I would love to see it pick up both networks I meant right now, not in 2015. There are places that Metro works better than T-mobile and vice versa. Would love to connect to both. I also have lost the idea of having any good battery life on these phones. They keep making them thinner and thinner. I have two 7200mah external batteries I plug into for the day.

That's the plan I had and cherished.

Should have sold that damn account :/

Ya to get the same level of service I would pay $240 more per year:mad::rolleyes:

The only way the phone could latch on to both cdma and gsm would not be easy nor cheap to implement. In fact I dont even know if the Verizon Iphone 5 (one of the global phones) can do both at the same time, I think it's an either or scenario. Once you put a sim card in the CDMA is shut down.

Im not going to upgrade to the new GSM phones if I have to change my plan. Ill just wait until 2015 and if they tell me that I have to upgrade to their new plans then ill just leave metro and go to straight talk.

Not a great video of the phone.. but apparently this guy got it in black.. and that speed test.. over 20mbps download :O

Samsung galaxy s4 metro pcs hands on! - YouTube

yea its fake, cant find a shred of evidence that they are planning to sell it in black, at 2:00 the back logo is shown and it looks like verizon's. this is further complimented as verizon is the ONLY carrier to have the 32GB model at this time.

You could have just lied to me and told me it was 100% real.. now my bubble is busted. lol jk

I'm too excited to get my hands on this phone.. I'll probably be getting it around late august/early september

You could actually get over 20mbs down with the S4 on metro, because its running on tmobile and HSPA + I have personally seen 26mbs down. and on LTE here in jacksonville I seen over 30mbs down.

That's weird he normally does legit reviews and how to root videos, he has all the other Metro GSM's on there.

im all for eating my hat, but the fact that its 32gb's, black, blurry and didnt show the backing clearly enough makes me think it was all fake.

700 bucks off contract, cant buy it instore (have to order online/via phone). even the 4g icon looks like it

here is a big image of sprint's http://wholesale.sprint.com/images/device-images/samsung-galaxy-s4.png?sfvrsn=2 you can see they have a sprint 4g icon, while verizon's has its blocky look. att has their own lte icon as well that IMO looks the best out of them.

Didn't watch the vid but could it be BYOD it has GSM, could get HSPA in refarmed areas and 1 of the 2 bands of LTE is the same as ours

I too much prefer the att icon. but I think on tmo they have the same icon on the note 2 at least.

So as i've mentioned earlier, i have a T-mobile Galaxy s4 (SGH-M919), that i was planning on connecting on MetroPCS through BYOD, however this hasnt been possible since BYOD hasnt yet hit my area (south florida), and i havent had any luck doing this remotely.

Now..

I'm flying to Boston tomorrow morning for a business trip(only there for a day)
And i'm asking myself, whether
1.I should take the Tmobile s4 i have right now and connect it at a corporate store through BYOD, as they're BYOD-ready and sell sim cards.

OR

2.If i should just buy the MetroPCS branded Galaxy s4 (rumored to be SGH-M919N) which should be the same exact device, with the sole exception of ROM and bloatware

I have a few concerns maybe some of you could help me out with

In terms of phone functionality,
-Can both phones be expected to work identically when im back in town(Miami)? ex. I would have the same signal, coverage, strength, network access, with whatever version of the phone i decide to connect while at Boston
The reason why im asking this is because i'd hate to connect the Tmobile s4 and come back to town to network issues and wish i had gone the other route.

-Since both phones are the same phone essentially(by model number), Does the MetroPCS s4 have the ability to be connected on another network should i ever feel like it down the line? ex. i decide to switch to Tmobile/AT&T in a few months, can i then exercise B.Y.O.D with the MetroPCS branded s4?(provided the necessary settings are changed ofcourse)
The reason why i ask this is because i bought my MetroPCS S3, on the day it finally hit the corporate store in Miami, couple months after i wanted to try StraighTalk, with the Metro s3, but i wasnt able to since the phone was never found to be unlockable and able to be used in another network(still CDMA), so i then had a $550 paperweight if i chose to leave Metro.
I know the Tmobile s4 i have can be unlocked and used on AT&T if i wanted to ever do so, i just want the reassurance that
Seen as the MetroPCS branded Galaxy S4, is truly GSM/LTE, this SHOULD be possible, and should i ever decide to switch, i could then use the $600 device instead of being forced to ONLY use their network.

BASICALLY im considering all these aspects to see where i should invest my premium, and what will be the better option for me,
either with the Tmobile S4, or by purchasing the MetroPCS Galaxy s4

All relevant input is welcome, thanks in advance

by the way, no i do not finance cellphones

They'll both work exactly the same on the metro SIM, the metro one can be unlocked after 3 months of on time payments. The only thing with the metro branded one though is that metro will provide you with support.

Since they both are the same phone you do not need to buy the metro branded one, that would just be a matter of choice for you.

You can bring the phone into the boston store and get the sim card, they can put your phone number on and since miami has a good tmo lte and hspa market you will have good service. Now I dont live there so I can not personally verify it but from what other people that do live there with tmo have said I believe it.

You know if it would make you happier you could buy that metro branded s4 and drop the tmo branded one off at my place on your way back to miami.

Hell I will even drive down and pick it up im such a nice guy lol

kinda cool deal, if the s4 will work on either carrier, I would get the t-mobile one cause they have the pebble blue version looking forward to it...

I ain't buying either one til I can see with my own eyes some speed tests, side by side with both Metro and T-Mo Sims.

I'm still not convinced it's going to be the same exact service. They've already hosed us in the eye on the prices not going up. (If you have a Grandfathered in plan.)

Show me. (And I'm not even from Missouri.)

PS But hell yeah on the blue one.

I think I'm going for the tmobile one in that case I'm waiting and really looking over both options I think is the same at the end, the difference will be that the metro plan will be cheaper
