Root MetroPCS Tiered 4G Plans

Dang does not seem like i am the only one here that thinks this way either LoL but do have too say that i believe i MAY be able to accept this change if
$55-$60 was 10GB. Looks like we may ask have to get the same phone when it comes out on a different carrier and stay another forum of just all if us HaHa. Maybe call ourselves the Exteemers? How about that name when/IF we jump ship?

Thats actually not bad for me. i have the 50 dollar plan and thats only 1gb of data, now its going to be 2.5? :) ive never gone over even 1gb and i use the internet all the time.

That's because not everything applies to the maximum amount of data they give you right now. According to these rumors they're trying to change that and cover it up by giving you more data to play with. But in reality you have a higher chance of exceeding the limit.

Looks like a switch to Verizon is in order. Was looking to pick up a galaxy nexus later this year. Might be getting it sooner than I thought. :-)
 
Just a thought

This tier plan was probably a planed change for when they were in the days of the sprint merger.

When ever they go to the table with the merger details,That's one company possibility they use to negotiate a future 1 to 10 years plan forecast. This is just variable in the negotiations.

Its all about forecast sales. Tier plans equal more money.
 
^ I hope so. I have no proabs going to Verizon in the next month. My bdays tomorrow and ill be getting some $$ (about $$700) switching to Verizon won't be a proablem for me.
 
Let's just hope we can get grandfathered in. I had the forty dollar plan when they took it away and nobody believed me but only cause i had it before they took it away. Hopefully that will work here if this garbage actually does go through.
 
Glad I hung on to my Boost Galaxy Prevail. A great little phone even if its 3G. Also there's an ICS WIP for the Prevail that is further along than ours and quite usable.

Why are you paying $116? While working at metropcs, they were going through a lot of auditing of metropcs stores that overcharge their customers and/or put add-ons that the customer didn't order.

The only way you can be paying $116 is if they put a $5 add-on + metrobackup, the other way is also if they added UnlimitedDirectoryAssistance and metrobackup to both lines (which was fairly common). If you don't need those add-ons you'll be paying $110 instead.

You can call 888-8METRO8 and change your plan, or change your plan at a metropcs store.

I know you were replying to someone else, but jumping in here...

It affects people who have "family" plans and who are not all yet on LTE but wish to be eventually. While I am on the "grandfathered" $50 LTE plan, my wife has an LG Optimus and later this year I was going to buy her an LTE phone. Adding that 2nd LTE phone -- dropping the CDMA-only Optimus -- to our plan would "change" our current plan, and then we'll be subject to the new throttling rules.

Luckily, I will probably be happy on the "new" $50 LTE plan as I don't use more than 2.5GB data per month.

I was just giving examples. Some people like the iPhone, I have female cousins that are on Metro and have mentioned a few times wishing Metro hac the iPhone, they feel its a simpler UI to use.
 
Anyone on a family plan that its planning on upgrading one of them soon can just go ahead and change to a dual single plan if they are not planning on upgrading the Esteem anytime soon. This will not help you keep the $50 when you upgrade the significant other but WILL arrow you to go ahead keep the $50 plan on the Esteem

Well I guess this plan changed is gonna happen just finish talking too metro PCs but they didn't give me a date when this is gonna happen but it is ill find out more late on
 
This will start tomorrow I my good friend is the GM at the corp store in Brandon FL. And she said yes it will start tomorrow but those who have a 4g plane will be godfathered in with the plane you have and you have to have had the plane for at least 30 days thank god all my phones are on the 60. Thought I would confirm a little more

I also have the 60$ plan so were safe lol
 
Well this is confusing lol I always had the $50 plan but just got the ascend on the 19th of March and I told them thread I would like to still be on the $50 plan
