Root Micro Stutters when scrolling or during screen effects

Any of you guys notice micro stuttering when swiping to the next home screen, or scrolling, clicking on settings and seeing the fading effects stutter a bit?

I think it's pretty much screen tearing like lcd's do when you throw too many fps at them and have vsync off. I've found the video chip to be extremely powerful, that's why i think this is might be the cause. The other theory is related to the second cpu core. It's constantly turning itself on and off as needed, almost like a strobe light because of power management (this is a good thing), but perhaps this is affecting the amount of cpu the phone can use a little too slowly, and deciding I need or don't need a core on while scrolling and causing that stutter.

On my esteem, scrolling was a million times smoother. But again it had one core, and a slower video chip. The problem seems to only affect 2D effects, anything 3D is perfect and very smooth.

The esteem had this one:

I do not notice any of these micro stutters, and I doubt the fault is at hardware, and is most likely due to first the launcher (which one are you using) or Gingerbread (which i believe according to the change-log has no multi-core support)

then again your esteem may have been using Zeam Launcher which is a million times faster in any phone compared to the stock launcher ^_^

I've tried Launcher7, Go Launcher Ex, ADW, ADW Ex on both devices. It happens across the board, it's slightly less noticeable in Go Launcher Ex.

The effect is akin to dropping frames. lets say you scroll down a list, 90% of that scroll is very smooth @ about 60fps, but about 5-10% of it seems to be at around 15-24fps.
swipe up an down in the settings so it moves slowly and you can see it. don't keep your finger on the screen, just flick it gently.

Yes, I have noticed this, but it hasn't been so bad that I really care that much.
I did have the same problem with my Droidx so I am used to it.

once the source code comes out I'll compile a new kernel with updated video drivers. we still need a clockwork recovery tho

This microstuttering is present everywhere to different degrees. It's most apparent when you hold and scroll slowly through a list such as the settings list. You'll notice it jumping up and down instead of flowing smoothly.
