Root MidnightRom: CM10.1 (4/6/2013) Version 1.05

If I'm not mistaken evervolv 4.2.2 is meant for the Evo 4G LTE. NOT the Evo 3D/EVO V 4G. but I would image something could be used from it to fix ours. Thats the only thing this rom is missing now for me. it's the best rom I've had for this phone otherwise. I hope we can get the older versions of visual voicemail working cause the newer white ones are annoying with all the trial crap in it. I had them working fine on CM9.

Btw for someone smarter than me here is the newest version of vvm :https://www.dropbox.com/s/ilc053hm9e3bigi/VVM_Widget.apk

It will notify you of pending voicemails but it will say it cannot download them and make you call.
It will not play the pre-recorded welcome messages or on the you compose in the app. Hopefully someone can fix this

if you go to the nightlies here: http://dl.evervolv.com/

and download the shooter rom version, vvm works perfectly (once you install the voicemail app)

Just flashed this last night and it feels a little better than dastins version of cm10.1. I got bootloops randomly on that rom which is why I switched to this one. The call quality as well as audio quality is definitely a lot better. But just today talking on the phone on the way to work it randomly rebooted on me. Just thought I'd put that out there for others. Thanks for this rom though. Ever since I got a taste of jellybean I don't want to go back to ice cream lol

Okay, so i was running v 1.01 and i was trying to upgrade to v 1.03 from the goomanager app and it messed up the rom a little, do i have to factory reset, or just flash the newest midnightrom, or midnightrom and gapps together for every update?

Do you have a link for this information? I couldn't find anything on this, I check the rom and it doesn't have a voice mail app bulit in out of the box. I saw a few posts asking if there would be a fix coming nothing more.

Thanks.

SIDE NOTE:
FYI use this MMS fix not the normal CM10 on because it will not work. Dev-Host - CM10_1MMS with MmsFix+cache.zip - The Ultimate Free File Hosting / File Sharing Service

Do I flash this in 4ext? I don't think MMS is working for me.

This is what happens when someone sends me a pic...

Cool rom! One thing I noticed is that there's no option for reboot into recovery from the power menu, is there a way to do this?

love this rom so far

2 things i've noticed on my end though. whenever i'm connected to 4G i never get an icon in the notification bar. i get one when connected to 3G, and i get one when connected to wifi. When connected to 4G the network bars do turn blue though. i also know i'm connected by going into 4G settings and seeing that it says connected

i've also tried the wireless tethering and it appears to work right up until i actually connect to it. my connection says i have internet access, but it's "limited" and nothing will actually load. i've tried both the built-in CM10 hotspot, as well as the Wireless Tether beta app. i've also changed the settings to wlan0 and enabled routing fix

hopefully it's just me and there's an easy fix for this! thanks!

reflashed the "fix everything" PG86IMG from the other thread, cleared cache, davlik, and wiped system. reinstalled this rom and gapps just to confirm it wasn't something i was doing

one more bug to report: i'm not able to change any ringtones or notification sounds. Clicked settings > sounds > phone ringtone > media storage and i get a force close saying "android.process.media has stopped". i'm only able to add a ringtone from a 3rd party app like zedge

No 4g icon is a Aosp thing. I just go by if I have no icon and my bars are blue must be 4g :)

The no 4G icon is just part of these roms.

built-in Phone Ringtone browser lets me chose a ringtone with no issue.

weird, maybe something got uploaded to the /data folder when i did my titanium restore. since i've wiped and reflashed the rom several times, that's the only thing that makes sense. i'll try doing a data wipe and trying again, thanks

I'm never been a fan of titanium backup because doing that can create a lot of issues.

xthedakmanx I can't login to your forum, i even reseted the password but it won't let me in, i wasted the 5 attemps. :(

i've been using it for years with no issues, it's saved me so much time and kept all my app data through so many rom installations, i'll always use it

after doing the data wipe the ringtone picker worked properly. the mistake that i made previously was that i had accidentally also restored system apps and data from TB when i should have only done user app data. whoops

The only things i'm still having issues with are wireless tethering, and facebook syncing. for some reason no facebook contacts are showing up in my contacts list. not sure if it's a CM, Facebook, or Jellybean bug

I love this Rom but I thought i should mention a few bugs. One of them is with the play store. Some apps thta i had on other cm10.1 roms won't install even being side loaded (frostwire and a live wallpaper app). The other bug is that when I use google+ it says camera error then it goes crazy and the video changes collor and other wierd stuff.

I got MMS working now! What I did was extract the MMS.apk from wild for the night (not sure if it's necessary but I had no problems with mms on there), replaced the MMS.apk file in the system on this rom and then I added some lines to the build.prop file which are at this post

[ROM] CM10.1 / AOSP 4.2.2 [build 20130313] - Android Forums

I rebooted and now my mms works!

Reguarding editing the build.prop file

Make sure you edit that file from your phone or correct the CMOD permission of that file if you do it another way.
This will result in a SOFT brick of your phone if the permission of bulid.prop is not 644. If you edit that file from your PC then re-copy to your device. You need make sure the CHMOD is correct before you reboot or else you will soft brick your android.

If you edit from your phone directly you should be fine.

Sorry if that confused anyone.

Simple fix for anyone that copied the file to there pc then edited and re-copied to device without changing the chmod

You need abd ( make sure to mount the system folder.. i use 4ext to mount thru recovery)
Windows instructions:
Download adb.exe, either through the Android SDK or elsewhere. Use Google.
Connect phone to computer via USB.
Boot phone into recovery.
Use cmd.exe (Use Windows key+R, and type cmd in the run window) to navigate to the folder containing adb.
E.g. "cd c:\Users\Josh\Downloads\adb"
Run "adb shell"
This should initiate a shell to the phone allowing you to run commands on the phone. If you get an error, make sure you have the drivers loaded for your phone.
Run "cd /system"
Run "chmod 644 build.prop"
Optional: Run "ls -l" and make sure that the permissions on build.prop show RW-R--R--.
Reboot phone.

Noob mistake on my part, but hopefully this stops other noobs from doing it

edit 2: Doing this MMS copy+edit build.prop fixed MMS for me.
Thanks, boomer_jmoore

Phone sat idle for about 4 hours. I just sent a text and before it could complete the phone rebooted itself. So i just got the random reboot others got also
