Root MidnightRom: Jellybean [MOVED]

That should be fine. 1.57/1.58 will not work. I'm always on 1.04...but I assume 1.5 should be alright as well.

beta 2 flashed. So far, smooth. Incredibly smooth. I Just need to replace a few apps for personal preference...but I'm gonna give it a whirl for a few hours, do some heavy testing, and see what I can do.

Woops I'm running Midnight 1.4.9 so it requires a hboot 1.58 or 1.57
Which I want to point out will not boot this ROM but hboot 1.50 will.

So to switch back and forth you need to install the correct hboot.
I see that people have a hard time understanding this. Want to expose it now before this ROM is out and about.

I think that issue of requiring 1.57+ was fixed for Midnight ICS.

I was using slimbean with v1.1 and hboot 1.04 and had reboot problems. I always had to do a battery pull it seemed like to complete reboot. I loved slimbean. best rom i have ever used, but i couldnt deal with the reboot issue. It would also reboot at times if i connected it to my pc and turned on usb storage. That was the biggest problem that pushed my back to midnight rom senseless. I couldnt have it rebooting everytime i tried to access the sd card.

Since this is based on slim bean v1.1, i am guessing its just the same problem. Hopefully DakMan can figure it out. Awesome, awesome rom. I loved the audio on it
 
YES!!! I can't wait till this is working 100% I LOVE the Midnight Rom's they are SO FAST! I'll wait for it to be 100% stable before flash as my JB rom works 100% right now. Maybe they can get 3D to work on this rom that would be awesome!

So I put back on JBear 1.50.5050 ( source http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1466020&d=1352361986 ) and was able to boot midnight 1.4.9 as stated. Please note that when putting on a new hboot you will need to clear/format cache/dalvik for TWRP 2.3.3 to work properly. But phone does not boot loop! Thanks for the heads up!

Anybody else have a problem with shutting your phone off or restarts?

The only way I can shut down is a battery pull

FULL wipe is absolutely needed.

HBOOT 1.57 WILL NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chrome beta doesn't work (google's fault I think :P)

Be sure to flash gapps after flashing the rom

Very cool dakman, I'll be trying it out shortly. Could you expand on what the "Entropy Generator" added is? Is that feeding /dev/random from /dev/urandom?

EDIT: Installed it...damn this seems fast compared to Team DIRT's AOKP...love the boot screen too, I'll update as I play around with it.

Really stoked to flash this! :D would've loved to beta but was busy for the last few days :p gonna give it a run now though!

Edit: question though. Is there any plan to at some point integrate the theme chooser? Or did you do that when I wasn't looking?

Just tested and yes JBear 1.50.5050 hboot will boot this ROM and Midnight 1.5.9

S-OFF, When the ROM is installed it shows as the proper kernel, but I meant the install script that runs in the recovery where it shows the features of the rom it still says MAC Kernel. Just letting you know so you could update that part.

Also when it's installed I tried the stock browser, and it kept FC on cracked.com homepage

Hi, great ROM!
I just flashed it and it works smooth, the only issue I'm seeing is the Music search function force closes when I look for a song, ( not sure if it's just me) other than that it works nice. :-)

Awwww, what happened to the cool keyboard? Was that a Sense thing from Midnight 14x?
Also when will you start pushing this via goo.im app? I loved the way it told me there was a new version to test!

Yush, it will! And it should already be on the goo.im. This is just the first version that's out. The next will show up ^_^
