Root MidnightRom: Jellybean [MOVED]

I tried a lot of the suggestions in this thread for getting the best performance without killing the battery. Intellidemand and smartassV2 actually drained my battery pretty fast, even with CPU1 disabled, and I also noticed that WiFi drains faster than 3G which used to be opposite for me. I went back to regular old ondemand with a min of 192Mhz and a max of 1350Mhz, CPU2 disabled, WiFi off, Sync enabled, and my battery is finally happy again and I don't have any lag. I've mostly used SnapChat, Facebook, and my camera today, taking multiple pictures with the flash, but somehow Maps (completely unused... must be Google Now / Facebook with their location seeking) is the highest battery consuming app. Anyway, if you're struggling with battery on this rom, try the good old governors. ;)

One of the things that helped my on battery time was setting the Autobacklight Brightness in Leedroid Tweaks (misc section) to lowest.

Did New clean install of 1.0.6 thinking that would fix my vvm issue but it is dull not working. Did I miss something I need to do? Mms is fine and I get regular text free voice mail notifications. Just nothing in vvm.

Do y'all have the 'force gpu rendering' enabled? It's a setting found under developer options. My readings regarding this setting are mostly a mixed bag right now, with some saying it elongates battery life by taking load off the CPU while others say it decreases it by forcing the gpu to be constantly on. I'd be interested to know your findings.

Okay so, update on the whole my computer blowing up thing and losing it's magic smoke.

I have a CR48 that Google gave me for testing a few years ago. For those who don't know, check this out http://cr-48.wikispaces.com/

Anyways, I was able to flash the BIOS and get ubuntu running on it. It's KINDA slowish, but atleast it works, and I can still push updates until I get my main fixed

I can help you build the updates if you want, I have a pretty powerful desktop that builds 4.X ROMs very quickly.

Just go to the messaging app and click the menu button go to the settings and it says vibrate and never or disabled just put it on always or enabled

A new problem has arisen and I'm not sure why... Now none of my videos are playing. I still have audio but no video. I've tried Mobo (player of choice), MX, etc... and nothing seems to work. Videos played fine a couple of days ago now not anymore. Any suggestions?

EDIT: mp4 still works but avi and flv don't anymore.

Houston, I have a problem!

I was running Harmonia (S-OFF) and decided to give this ROM a try. I:

Created a backup using 4EXT
Booted into the 4EXT bootloader and wiped caches etc
Installed the Rom
Installed the Gapps
Rebooted....

No I am in a boot loop. The boot get as far as the black/white EVO 3D graphic and reboots. I pulled the battery and tried to enter recovery using Power/Vol+ but it doesn't seem to be happening.

Is there anyway I can restore my 4EXT backup without a huge song and dance?

Thanks all :)

did you do a full restore before flashing? and can you get into the bootloader or recovery?

Thanks but I got it :)

I was pressing Vol UP instead of DOWN :). I got into recovery and there was the 4EXT recovery waiting for me. I restored my backup and Im back to where I was - best $3 I ever spent :)

Turns out I was on HBOOT 1.57 - hence the loop.

I use power/ vol down to get into the boot loader then you can get into recovery that way but once you get there you can restore you 4ext backup

I just recorded a video to see what it would do and its giving me these flashing lines down the screen. Other than that its a good rom.

Finally got around to making an update

It'll be up by tomorrow ^_^

Sorry I haven't been very active lately

1.0.7 1/30/2013

-Change touchscreen settings (I was having issues with touch freezing up, figured everyone else was, so I reverted to the stock touchscreen file)
-Updated kernel to mac 3.2
-SystemUI Shouldn't crash at first boot anymore(maybe)
-Fixed camera (also maybe)
-Fixed swagger toggle so it doesn't cause any crashes/weird settings anymore
-Integrated crossbreeder lag reduction (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2113150)

Not that you would ever want to. ;) And I'm not sure if this has even been answered but I seem to have been able to remove the swagger toggle by simply resetting the toggles in the menu.

Menu -> ROM Control -> Toggles -> Reset Toggles(@bottom) Then change all the setting to however you like! :D

It's not really necessary for any Android release beyond gingerbread. It primarily tweaks the handling of out-of-memory (OOM) conditions and the newer releases have gotten much better at handling that natively.

Isnt ICS Midnight Rom V6 supercharged?
