Root MikG v3.0 Final Release

I just flashed MikG 3.0 with ROM Manager, and now I am getting a ton of Force Close messages that I can't even do anything on it. Any help?

ROM Manager will cause you nothing but trouble, you need to flash fresh, through recovery, using Amon Ra recovery. So do this:

(1) Read through the Rooting for Dummies Guide. Notice the "Switching Recoveries" section, follow those instructions.

(2) Read through the "nandroids" and "flashing" sections as well. To insure a completely clean flash, I follow this guide to the letter and never have any problems.

Hmmm, ok... so instead of changing recoveries that way, how about you reboot your phone and use ROM Manager one last time, following this guide to switch recoveries through ROM Manger (the ONLY time you should use ROM Manager, in my opinion).

OK, I didn't change recovery. But went through and reset all the data. Then re-installed the ROM, and now everything works fine. What kernal would you recommend running with this? I have seen so many different ones, I would mainly love to help my battery life.

If you have AnthraX available, thats by far the best sense kernel out right now... Only issue is support got pulled due to legal issues from having beats code baked in.


If you don't have AnthraX, use Lithids Agressive Freedom Universal

RX, i have this anthrax kernel, SUPERSONIC-SENSE-AnthraX-2.6.38.6-REV_004, is there a more recent one, and if there is i'm guessin' that there isn't a way to get it anymore, right? here's a noob question on mik 3.0... on quick settings, volume controls, what is DTMF volume? and, believe it or not, it was just a short time ago that i "accidentally" pressed the volume in quick settings and realized that it changed, to notifications, alarm, etc... how m-bare-ass-ing to admit....

if you are talking about the link in the op for the beta for mikg3.0 then yes it is the same rom. it is just the beta version. mik is such an awesome dev that his beta's are so stable to begin with. so there should not be any real difference from the beta version to his final version.

DTMF is another name for dial tone. i'm not on mikg3.0 so i;m not sure what it does, but that is what those letters are. here is an explanantion on what it DTMF means:DTMF Explained

I still had both the 004 and 009 versions on my pc. I flashed 009 about an hour ago on my FreshEVO. Going to give it a go for a few weeks. I remember it not liking my particular phone a little while ago but I love better sounding music lol

It legally can not be distributed because of the Beats software baked into the kernel. The developer was told to pull it and if anyone had it we were told not to distribute it out again.

I downloaded the Sense one, is this not a good one. I flashed it, but my phone info still shows me using the stock kernel not this one.

I just downloaded another one I found on the mikmik forum. It has the name Supersonic in it, instead of the Shooter. Flashed it, and working perfectly.

I'm not too sure exactly but from what I understand it either has Beats by Dre drivers or some part of their software written into the kernel or put in the kernel package. Someone that knows a lot more about how kernels are made can better answer your question.
