Root MildWild based on Oxygen

I have been using Mildwild 2.9.5 for some time now. I have it working exactly as I want. I do not have many games on it but the rest of the stuff I have is mostly stable and quick. I have A2SD and Dalvik on SD working well. Only problem is with wifi sometimes - connection is slow. I actually like this ROM so much that it has discouraged me from going back to MIUI or trying out dGB.

Is there any reason for me to upgrade to 3.x? If anyone has used both versions can you please tell me what the main Noticeable difference is and if 3.x is better in any way?
 
anyone found the cm style call setting for adding your number to the sim on this rom? :/ just had to get a new sim so lost that setting

Yeah.. he keep changing launcher which is a pita. He did run a vote recently but i think he likes to tinker. Launcher 2 was fine for me but the xperia arc one in 3.5 is decent too.
 
Im finding that when incoming call happens, there is a delay in the screen turning on, so cant answer it quickly
Only a few seconds I guess, but seems like a long time

3.5.5 is out with a new kernel thalmus r4 .. I've not flashed it. I did flash just the kernel though.

I think he's moved to optik launcher for the 3.5.5 version from the xperia one...but I can't keep up - and I've no idea what that one is like.

Mildwild himself states that the cm7 version has better batter life now though.
 
I actually just read MildWild's post, that stated his CM version has better battery life than the Oxygen build, and im quite interested by that comment, especially as i'm not really a CM fan but maybe it might be worth me giving it a try.

It might have something to do with BeautifulWidgets (known battery drainer extroidinaire! But I have set the updating to 8 hours) but with normal/moderate usage i'm lucky to get a day's worth of battery out of this ROM at the moment and other than Facebook, I don't think I have any other automatic updating apps
 
So I just updated to 3.5.5 (lasted long, right? :D) but either Orange is having a bit of a mare right now or something has gone wrong, because I can't connect to the mobile internet. I've had a look at the APN settings, and they seem to be correct (does anyone have a copy, so I can double/triple check), i'm a bit stumped though.

It could be coincidence but somehow it seems to convenient to assume that Orange is having difficulties at the exact time I decide to change my ROM

was gonna flash a new mw rom but there seems to be issues with cm one , and battery defo isnt as good on ox one for me - so back on to dgb :)

So very much this. I'm lucky to get 18 hours or so of battery at the moment with this Oxygen ROM, with what i'd consider fairly moderate usage.

Now if dGB were to come with an ICS theme or skin... hint hint, nudge nudge then I would almost certainly make the jump right away :P I'm just a fan of the blueness haha
 
Being the pleb that I am... I am rather scared about using UOT, looks quite complex

Theme Chooser sounds easy though! ;)
 
its not that complex. Just upload files in the upload tab, then go through all the tabs to see what mods you want...
