"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

that i know of no one has been able to confirm status of droiddecoder...i tried direct messaing but no response...they are still following me tho

I replied to droiddecoder asking if there were runner up prizes since I'd heard talk of gift cards and I got a DM back of "No."

thats ****ing crazy, no warning or anything, just boom, go get it, so my friend that was waiting for me in Chicago is cutting grass right now, thanks droidlanding for the unexpected! well now I only have a chance in TN and Orlando.

Coordinates right after the final clue? I'm not a fan. Maybe this is due to the certificate hiding timing complaints? Now it's just a foot race though...not cool.

I bet they start doing final clue -> GPS a lot quicker now since people started showing up to the place before they could even hide it. Now I'm even more nervous since mine is coming up tomorrow

DroidLanding Droid designate #14 is an animal kingdom named after an American president. Perfect since Droid X rules. via WEB

They are giving away 14 NOW. Chicago Bears

DroidLanding If you are in Chicago, Droid X designate #14 has been tracked to coordinates N 41 55.202 W 87 37.922. Pounce on Google Maps to find it!

also coordinates at the same time

Did anybody knew that Chicago one is today as well?

Seems a little odd that in the past they gave a hint, and waited 20+ minutes to give the GPS loc and this time it was almost instant. Now it just comes down to luck and who lives closest to the location and hits the most green lights.

This 'contest' is starting to get pretty unfair and annoying.

I find it very hard to believe that all these 'random' people are finding it faster than the people in this thread that have been following droidlanding since the beginning and have been decoding clues from day one.

Bunch of bullshit if you ask me. The people that actually care about the phone, will get the most use out of the phone, and know the most about the phone are being ignored.

This is getting suspicious and dangerous....if they let it turn into a mad dash, there will be problems if mob mentality takes over and screw lawsuits...they're looking at some very bad publicity at a Time where Verizon is still in heavy competition with AT&T......

I think this one was a screw up on DroidLandings part. DroidDecoder just tweeted the coordinates. I think someone hit enter before they were supposed to.

I agree with you 100% Damn...you have friends around the country willing to hunt down a $600 phone and just give it to you.......damn, I wish I had friends like that. lol

I've contacted DroidDecoder about these "issues" if the contest was being mishandle from the start...now it's becoming willfully mishandled. At this rate, it will become civilly liable, regardless of disclaimers. This has McDonald's Monopoly Disaster written all over it.

ok so orlandos phone could be anywhere, its a big city, citywalk charges for parking but downtown disney doesnt.. convention center maybe but that too is a big area, the center goes on for like a couple blocks.

This whole thing is a screw up. It isn't run with any order at all. I've ben mapping clues, all that stuff you guys hav been doing, and it is like I said before really right place, right time. BS. The day time lines are not accurate either, they gave Sunday as the day for Boston in one tweet on Fri, then they said in one day a little while later. I hope verizon gets into trouble for this, it's ridic now. I went to Plymouth as well as Boston searching for this thing. really good luck-you will need it, because that's all it really is. Also for Boston, my son, and I searched the lobster place before the coords, and no certificate. It is random.

No, it won't be at downtown Disney. I'd almost bet my life on it. Disney NEVER allows media near downtown Disney. Even last month when the two tourists got mugged there...local news had to set up on 535 At Crossroads. Disney wouldn't allow a contest that would encourage wreckless running around or driving. Screw Disclaimers, you CAN sue Disney. Trust me. Lawyers will pick it up on contingency if you barely have a case, because Disney attempts to settle every lawsuit...even wrongful termination ones. ^_~ I literally cannot elaborate about it, so just trust me. ^_^

they still haven't found it
Of course not. They just randomly threw out GPS cords without any warning no one was getting into place. It looks like even the closest house probably have a 20 minute drive to get there.

Monopoly disaster?

I don't know if iit will be a liability. I just know they're starting to piuss a lot of people off

UPDATE: DroidDecoder DM'd me saying Verizon will clarify the issues we are complaining about here within the next few hours. Yup...it's a Verizon employee, possibly monitoring the contest. Th latest coordinates were not supposed to have been sent when they were.
