Missing my iPhone, Convince me please

I had an old iPhone 3G, the thing was slow and knackered and I was glad to get rid so bought a nice shinny new HTC Desire S, I was amazed just how good it was for the first week, now the novelty has worn of I miss my iPhone:mad:

I can't figure out why I miss that piece of junk, my Desire S is so much better on paper and Android for me does everything iOS did + more but still I miss my iPhone 3G

What exactly do you miss about your iPhone?

I have iPhone, iPad 2, iPod Touch, etc. My favorite platform by far is Android though.

Maybe just a little nostalgia. I miss my 1962 Volkswagen Beetle, and I miss an old girlfriend at times. I even occasionally miss smoking.

Then I look at my new car, my wife and my health and I forget about all that useless longing and realize just how good I've got it.

I can't put my finger on it, Maybe its just the simplicity of iOS
I hear you. It's too simple for me.

I can't even view the file sizes of each app that is on my iPad 2. And Apple prevents me from using my PAID FOR 3G service from downloading any apps more than 20MB in size...I HAVE to use wifi to do that.

And there is no way for me to secure my email / calendar / contacts when loaning my iPad 2 to a relative / friend to use for a while. Therefore I don't even put my main / real email on my iPad 2. Just a junk one.

I liken my iOS devices as Nerf toys, compared to real machines in the world that can do real jobs like Android devices.

hhhmmm....

some like suvs..
some like trucks..
some like sports cars..
some like motorcycles...
some like bicycles..
i dont care.. as long as it gets you what you want.

you and all others.. like what they like.. somethings with no reason other than .. you like it.

so.. you like iphone.. cool. go get your iphone on!
take care.

I think iOS is great for people who want a simple & stable platform to do basic tasks on. If you want a fully customizable phone with more advanced functions then Android is the way to go.

My Wife & I love Android. This fall when my 65 year old parents get new smart-phones I'll probably try to transition them from their Palm Pre's to the iPhone. It'll be easier for them to understand and get used to. Plus, they can't accidentally break it. :p

My personal experience is that many things to do with apple and itunes is a huge pain in the butt to work with. For example, itunes tries REALLY hard to keep you from using music downloaded from illegitimate sources. So hard, I find, that it makes simple tasks extremely irritating to perform.

we can hardly argue that android os is an enterprise solution.
could we?

apple act proactively in regards to security. apple supports exchange. and id say sooner than later that they will allow for the device to be managed by a domains group policy object.

If you really feel that you wanna go back to the iphone, then go on ahead. It's a free world, and do what you feel is best for you.

I think the message you should get Slugger is everyone here wants you to get the phone you are happiest with. Even if that's an iPhone. We'd love to keep you in the Android family but your personal happiness with a product you have to carry around for 2 years is a priority in situations like this one.

Well, after 3 months the novelty has still not worn off for me . Of course I love tinkering and customizing and adjusting. I think there is no way you can property
evaluate a new Android device in one week. There is to much to learn. I would recommend giving things more time. Of course you very well may have become a fanboy and not know it. A brand spanking new iPhone 4 might be your destiny.

The only reason most people that bought the iPhone is because of the Apple name, period. The majority of the iPhone users do not use half of the functionality of the phone and rarely use the data. I have read a survey last Fall that Android users are using far more data than the iPhone users.

Frankly, the new Android phones, like the Galaxy S line and the HTC line, are as easy to use as the iPhone.

So IMHO, people who buys things because of the name brand and people who are the follower type, they buy the iPhones. For those people who do their research before buying anything and are technologically savvy, they buy the Android phones. So what type of user are you? ;)

Oh I am very much the research type, I read countless reviews and hands on before I bought my Desire S, maybe its time to do a bit of customizing which at least can be done with a droid and as soon as they are able to root the Desire S I think i'll be happy enough with my purchase, I suppose it just takes some getting used to a new device
