Root MIUI-no simultaneous talk and data??

Is this not available with the MIUI AOSP ROM????

is it my kernel? is it a radio issue?

anyone know, cant seem to find a reference to it out there, and if there is a known issue, is there a known fix?

If you are on 4G then you can talk and access data simultaneously. If you're on a 3G connection it's not possible with the OG EVO.

but i swear i had no problem before root/rom on 3g as i dont have much access to 4g so i was never on it...

i could swear i searched on google for something while on a call, and i know tune in radio would pause but go right back to streaming once call completed, always thought the 3g radio stayed on...

now i am not sure!

you are right i fired up my wifes unrooted EVO made a call and no data services on 3g...

problem solved!

but what is OG? need to add that to my glossary

og=original gansta=original evo=evo 4g

it is just a term we use for our beloved evo.

and you can also talk and surf while on wifi as well.

Yup, the OG = the original EVO 4G. Since there are what, 4 variants of the EVO, easier to type OG EVO.

I forgot about surfing with wifi while on the phone.

It really can be a pain to not be able to check something on the googles while talking to someone. One of the drawbacks with sprints network.

I believe this has to do with the CMDA technology... I forget the term for it, but basically it only allows one data connection at a time. I think.

If you are on 4g it should work (which isn't in miui), but I'm not sure if it'll work on wifi..? I've never tried it, I don't really use the 'phone' portion of this device.

its all good. this is one of the threads that pointed the use of og evo and kind of made it official.

3G and wifi should work though

That's a CDMA network thing. 4G and wifi can use data and talk simultaneously, but 3G doesn't on CDMA networks. ATT for example, can do both 3G and data at the same time, but ATT uses a GSM network/antenna.
