Root miui problem help please

ok so i downloaded miui on my evo and when my phone tries to turn on it keeps trying to load but the phone keeps restarting itself

Does the phone boot up all of the way or does it keep repeating the flash screen? Did you wipe data, cache and dalvik prior to flashing?

no it does not boot up all the way i guess it keeps repeating the flash screen it will say miui android and appear as its loading and wont load it will just start over and no i didnt wipe i was told i didnt need to

Welp thats your problem. Yes you do need to wipe. When flashing a rom you always need to wipe data, cache and dalvik. When flashing a kernel you only need to wipe cache and dalvik. Reboot into recovery and wipe all 3 then reflash the rom and you'll be food to go.

Anyway, this is correct. I hope you made a nandroid backup first.
