Root Miui ???

it is a rom that (i believe) is made by the chinese and ported to the US for us to use. it is an aosp rom that does not (and will never) have 4g working. it is very customizable, but when you first flash it, it looks very iphony. but a lot of people really like the rom. try it out. you can get it from the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/284413-roms-kernels-download-page.html under aosp roms.
 
yeah. i love this rom. great battery life and looks exelent. just a bit too iphony for me and i need 4g so i dont use it. but would highly reccomend otherwise
 
I would highly recommend it. I realize this isn't really a "Should I try MIUI?" thread, but ocn pretty much hit it on the head.

A great thing about MIUI is that it has a really cool pull down notification bar. It is similar to that of CM7 with the power widget - except - now get this- it is the whole damn screen!! You get pretty much everything in a toggle. AWESOME!

Yeah, no 4g. That is something I don't really get... cm7 has it, so do other aosp roms, but not miui. Still, give it a go. Put on a new launcher and you don't have to deal with the iphone user interface.

i think that since china does not have 4g, they will never work on it. and since this is a closed source project nobody else will ever get to work on it.

but i just saw this:
[BETA][ROM]:CIUI cyanogen base, MIUI style [4G] see with in. - xda-developers

and it is a cm7 based rom, but made to look like miui. kind of a cool idea.
 
Cool cool. I wonder why the devs behind the us port just can't / couldn't add it..? I hope to one day understand the development side of things... ;)


Cool find about the new beta though. ;)
