Help MMS not, never worked - Virgin Mobile

just do what i did. Return the plastic samsung junk to the store and text vm to offer a good phone, the htc one sv, on vm in addition to boost mobile.
Too bad the herd mentality results in apple and samsung junk selling more then quality phones from htc and lg.

I found Holo Backup, took about an hour for 3.3GB - File System and SD Card
Off to root.

Can you link it? I did not know it was possible to do the file system without root.

VM isn't the only one that has to want it- the manufacturers have to be willing to offer a CDMA version. As Boost uses the Sprint network, too, if I recall, those hardware models SHOULD exist and only need to be flashed with the Virgin firmware at the factory.

i'm having MMS issues... out of a virgin mobile box, bought from radio shack, NO splash screen at all, just the samsung boot logo.

I still can't send or receive MMS on Stock MMS App - even after countless hours of phone tech support.

I was able to get Go SMS to work using custom APN Settings and Phone in CDMA Only mode.

This leads me to believe that there is something wrong with the Stock APN settings for 4G LTE.

Is there anyone out there with a Victory that can send MMS on 4G LTE? Can you list your APN Setting from the /etc/apns-conf.xml file?

hey, i use GO SMS Pro and would like to change custom settings for APN so my MMS will work. i can receive but not send... what settings did you use for each APN category?

NEVERMIND... found the guide from Alpine Man if anyone's interested in the Go SMS fix:

1) Download and install Go SMS Pro to your phone from the Google Play Store.

2) Launch Go SMS Pro and skip through the intro message screens.

3) Skip the Go Chat Service offer unless you really want that.

4) Press Menu button on your GS3.

5) Choose Settings.

6) Scroll down the menu and choose Set default SMS program.

7) Press each entry in the list and put a check mark on "Use by default for this action" then choose Go SMS Pro. When both are done, press the back button on your phone.

8) Up on top, press "Advanced"

9) Scroll down the list and press "MMS Settings"

10) Scroll down the list and put a check mark on "Fill APN configuration manually"

11) Press "MMSC".

12a) Type in "http://mms.sprintpcs.com" - do not include the double quotes. Press OK button.
OR
12b) Type in "http://mm.myboostmobile.com" for Boost
OR
12c) Type in "http://mmsc.vmobl.com:8088/mms?" for Virgin Mobile

13) Press "MMS PROXY".

14) Type in "68.28.31.7" (Sprint & Boost) OR "205.239.233.136" (Virgin Mobile) - do not include the double quotes. Press OK button.

15) Press "MMS PORT".

16) Type in "80" (Sprint & Boost) OR "81" (Virgin Mobile) - do not include the double quotes. Press OK button.

17) Press back button on phone twice.

18) Send/receive a few SMS/MMS messages to test.

19) Done.

@ jetfactor

I had same exact issue with MMS. Go SMS only worked when phone was in CDMA Only mode.
I returned the phone, and no problems since.

Also, after the phone system updated, there was just a Samsung splash screen - no Sprint or Virgin Mobile splash.

If I were you, I would return ASAP for another unit.

Something strange I noticed tonight about sending MMS while on LTE/stock messaging app. My phone dropped to 3G in order to send the MMS and has yet to go back to 4G. (In fact, the data connection disappeared altogether while I was writing this, then came back a few minutes later. ) Toggling Airplane Mode didn't help either.

Has anyone else noticed something like this?
