chances are there might be an outage in your area with metro, and thats a known issue with them, but you didnt delete anything google or delete the mms.apk did you? try putting the phone in airplane mode for a minute than turn off airplane mode and try it again.

I deleted there message app thats why probably deleted the mms.apk is there a way to get it back.

thank you

yes thats your problem right there, dont delete the message app that come with the phone... i will upload it in a sec.

Download esteem mms.rar and extract it to your desktop and move both files from the folder and put it on your sd card , next disconnect the usb cable and open root explorer and move the 2 files to /system/app than reboot the phone and test it out.

I hate to sound stupid I see the two files in sd on root exployer but how do you move them to /system/app

thanks for all your help

Make sure to copy the files first with root explorer by pressing the menu button and then select multi-select, next tap on the files you want to move. They should now have a green check mark next to them on the right side. Next press the move button on the bottom of the screen. Now press the back button on the phone until you are at the root of the phone. Next go to the folder that you want to copy the files to. When you are at that folder on the top right of your screen you will see a button that says Mount R/W press that once and now it should say Mount R/O. Now press the paste button on the bottom of your screen and you have now put the files where you need them.

+1

what he said...;)

I did all the above and still no go the only the only way i can receive a text or send is thru a app i downloaded handscent the metro messaging app isn't even showing up.

Thanks Dan

It's not working because you need to set the correct permissions on the apk after copying it back to /system/app/

In root explorer, mount as R/W, long press the apk file and set it to this:
R W X
Owner Y Y N
Group Y N N
Other Y N N

Tap ok. and it will be there on next reboot.

i can send and recieve with data on or off and make calls also, but it sounds like he might need to setup adb and push the mms.apk through it that way.

Hey guys I've got this same problem

Messaging app accidentially deleted

but even if I had the files in there and rebooted and set permissions it wont work!

Okay, I've got the same issue with my Phone

I put the Files in the right spot and rebooted.

Tested out. nothing

Changed to correct permissions. Nothing

Tried to launch from the back files. "Activity not found com.lge.messaging.apk"

Guys I really need help, MMS is relatively important considering I'm paying for it

Currently Im using GOSMS to cover basic SMS, but it doesnt seem to get MMS

Do you have just the MMS apk or also the MMS.odex?

Also you did install it when you put them in the system folder then changed the permissions and rebooted?

Well, I've got the "MessageWidget.apk' And it's .odex and the "MMS.apk" and It's .odex

But even after going in and doing a factory reset through the settings and rebooting a mass number of times and mounting correctly and changing permisisons ect.

Still noting.

Not sure what I ****ed up, but it happened when deodexing D:

When going into my root browser and trying to run the messagewidget.apk I get "cannot find activity com.lge.messagewidget.apk"

I can still get SMS through GOSMS but not MMS

I'm thinking of Just Installing the Default GB ROM I found in the forums.

Let me know what's up guys
