Help MMS Woes

Did you make sure to turn WiFi off? MMS doesn't go through Wifi, only through 3G/4G mobile network.

Hmm maybe that was it

I do have wifi on.

I tried it once with wifi off but it still gave me a download error, maybe I need to reboot the phone in 3g/4g mode?

This was a photo someone had sent me

ahh i gotcha

i never kept my OG droid on wifi

I had my curve 3g on wifi at home

didn't seem to have MMS issues with either device

guess ill just stick with 4G and kill my wifi connection

By that hand-off issue you mean phone turning on 3G/4G automatically to send/receive MMS when WiFi is on? I can't speak for that as I don't use MMS much.

But 3G to WiFi hand off seems to be fairly smooth when I move in and out of my WiFi zones.

I got this issue 1 time... took a few days before I got the txt... hey where are those pics?

I rebooted, and they sent, maybe it was after i replied.

However trying to repeat it here at home wifi on, I could NOT recreate the situation. I asked a few friends if I could try, and got about 6 replies right away using a normal computer.... they all got the pic right away.... hmmmrph

yes but it seems to only be an issue if your in a low coverage area. For instance at my home i don't get good signal "according to all of the measurements not just the bars" and sometimes it takes a lot of effort to get a pic message to send out when i'm on my home wifi network. A lot of people have had issues with mms on this device. Also it's very sporadic. I haven't had it happen lately it just seems to happen whenever it wants to.

hmm just tried it again with no success

im trying to receive an mms with a photo

only using 4g, it says message not downloaded try again later, and im not even notified someone attempted to send me an mms

anyone else with similar issues?

On Rezound, I noticed it has "always on mobile network" setting in wireless setting. Seems it's checked on by default. So it probably keeps 3G/4G radio on regardless of WiFi connection in case any app requires mobile data? If so, it seems like good option and wish Gnex has feature like that.
