Root [MOD | S-OFF] Remove Red HTC Developer Splash Screen Text

Rxpert83

Dr. Feelgood
More temptations...:D

Regaw over on Xda is doing great things for our rooted community again. S-off users can now remove the red HTC development text on splash screens.

I'm gonig to link straight to XDA since replacing your bootloader can be dangerous business and you NEED to be kept up with latest instructions/downloads

Confirmed working!

Regaw is top notch in my book. I do agree patience is probably wise for the early stages of development. Unless of course you're a rock star like RX! :D

If we end up with an engineering hboot like there was on the OG, I'll probably load that one up. For now the red text is just that, red text. ;)

Ah, you beat me to it haha. Was gonna post that here soon :P Keep this one, I'll be on there for now. Also, anyone who wants to come hang out in #RegawMOD on freenode. Grand Opening party ;)

Sorry man :D

Your doing some awesome work for us. I saw this and had to alert the troops over here immediately!

Load that man up with thanks!

Yeah. No way I am going for this mod.

Every time I read the red warning, I find myself singing -

Neener neener neener, nyah nyah nyah, nyah nyah nyah, ha ha ha, ha ha ha.

And as I finish, I find myself mentally saying, "Think I am going to do it your way, HTC? Take that!"

And by then, I am far past the funny text.

Anyway, thanks a bunch, Regaw, great work again, but as we discussed before, I am sitting this dance out. ;) :)

Edit and PS - Aw, hamburgers. :( After thinking some more, I guess I ought not be the odd man out. :)

Geeze, talk about peer pressure! You thought you were the odd man out, now I'm the only one with S-on and the red text! :(

I should have my new laptop next week sometime, so I'll be able to actually "work" during the week. :D

Now that Regaw also has the customizeable bootloader mod, mine will display "SPLENDID" :D

Wow, Awesome work, sir!

I would like to ask you something, if I may.

I used your method to unlock originally. I used your red script remover. I used the Lazy Panda method to get S-OFF.

I now see you have a return to stock tool, for lack of a better title.

My question is, would I be safe in using that tool in light of the path I have followed with this device as outlined above, if I were to need to return to stock?

The info regarding the bootloaders is way above my head and I wanted to be sure as I have seen some issues in the threads.

Thank you!

My S-ON process is safe to use if you have S-OFF from Lazy Panda and are running any custom/LazyPanda bootloader. :) You run the RUU, then as long as you are on the stock bootloader, my tool will write the S-ON secure flag to the bootloader. It has all the device checking capabilities built in so there is no way for it to attempt to write S-ON to the custom bootloader.

Good point lol.. It's still safe yes, but removes the ability to flash firmware images from fastboot until you flash the new version again. I'll update it when I get home tomorrow. I may phase this thread out and just link to the RegawMOD Bootloader Customizer tho... but then again it's windows only. ah I'll figure it out tomorrow when I'm home.

Good idea to wait a day or two. ;)

I'm making the zip right now. I figured I should provide this to people without access to a Windows computer, because then they can't use my Bootloader Customizer to do it themselves. Expect an update to the thread in a few minutes.

Thank you, thank you! :)

I can access Windows when absolutely necessary but this is far better for me. :)

I see the fix is up, nice!

BTW - we can magically make you the owner of this thread without disrupting anything if you want. If you would like to leave it to us as-is (you have a few irons in the fire), I'm sure Rxpert would be honored to maintain as he has been.

You do so much for the community and we're all grateful, so either way will be a pleasure working with you. Just let me know. ;) :)

Oops I thought I posted here too that the update was up! My bad. Yeah it's up and I'll leave Rxpert the owner of this one. I kinda want to pass that thread on to someone else on xda too ;) I keep forgetting to update it with the new versions :P But yes, I'll update this whenever a new one comes out, but I'm guessing that this is the last version of the hboot that will be updated until the device gets an actual updated bootloader.
