I take no credit. I just hooked it up here. Credit goes to AndroidON. A Thanks to p-bot for the jar files because I was feeling lazy and didnt want to download 4-5 roms just for the framework.jars :D Thank bud

Smooth scroll mod


Add - This tweak will be included in CM7 officially. Editing smali manually will not needed.
So you can find the option in performance setting. Thanks cyanogenmod team!
(But other stock based roms still can do this like 'Sense','Blur','Touchwiz',etc)

- Some android applications have some lag when they scroll.

I found in logcat that garbage collector is working to much when I do some scroll in application.

I googled about it and found the 'scrollingcache' function inside android making problem.

Some application developers recommend disable 'scrollingcache' in app's internal config.

But not all applications have disabled scrollingcache.

So the mod I'll do will disable the scrollingcache throughout the Android OS.

As generous as you are can you explain what this mod do? i take it eliminates any lag while scrolling the home screen?

It disables the scrolling cache android builds which in return it suppose to make scrolling smoother. Ever notice in some apps scrolling is smoother then in others? Chances are the "smoother" on of the 2 has scrolling cache in the app disabled. This disables scrolling cache thru out the entire OS which in return also disables it in all applications.

Yup. Just flash. I wiped cache and dalvik but dont think its mandatory I just felt like doing it :D

step 1 download according to your rom
step 2 place file in your external or internal memory card
step3 boot phone to recovery
step 4 look for file in your memory internal or external
step 5 flash file
step 6 reboot
step 7 done

No backup needed as well any feedback have you guys noticed any difference

Rut Roh...There maybe a chance #2 got mixed with another rom Ahaha I did them all at once. I'll redo it later to see if thats the problem which Im guessing is. I was copying and pasting as I finished one and could of forgot to click "copy" when I got to #2. Check it out in a little but. Its 6:50 am and Im hitting the rack for some shut eye :D;)
