Smooth scroll mod

Add - This tweak will be included in CM7 officially. Editing smali manually will not needed.
So you can find the option in performance setting. Thanks cyanogenmod team!
(But other stock based roms still can do this like 'Sense','Blur','Touchwiz',etc)

- Some android applications have some lag when they scroll.

I found in logcat that garbage collector is working to much when I do some scroll in application.

I googled about it and found the 'scrollingcache' function inside android making problem.

Some application developers recommend disable 'scrollingcache' in app's internal config.

But not all applications have disabled scrollingcache.

So the mod I'll do will disable the scrollingcache throughout the Android OS.

Just flash in CWR! No wipes needed but I did wipe the cache partition and dalvik just because Im OCD like that :D

Oh really? Ahaha Oh well. Downloading all your stock files for different versions now. I have a theme ported for BrokenOut just need a tester. (If some one wants to test just PM me) Ya'lls apks are super clean compared to the Esteems, a lot less images.

I got another themer/Guide from the Esteem forum coming over to bring some stuff too. Possibly 2-3 others. And gonna try and get another user over here too. That one might be iffy because he doesnt have the phone but you never know ;)

Awesome man... really humble... Ill reinstall broken out tomorrow .. and ill be more than happy to test.

If you guys are offering to do some themeing, I would LOVE (LOVE LOVE LOVE) you if you could do a CM7 style theme. Something akin to this:

Seriously I would be eternally grateful

Can't wait for a ZVA version of this. Will this reduce lag on the whole phone? lag while on certain apps? etc...?

Yea it improved the smoothness on the Esteem thru out the system.

Right now I'm/we are working on deodexing the stock roms to use as a base for themes and mods.

I haven't ever had issues with scrolling even with over 150 apps installed on my phone and a constant ram usage of around 500+ MB...there something that I'm missing?!?

Just a heads up, if you have flashed my patch for pdroid and you flash this you will likely lose functionality of pdroid.

The pdroid patch also modifys framework.jar, when you flash this is will overwrite your existing framework.jar file, thus removing the bits modified for pdroid to function.

Not to steal shinysides thunder at all, I am going to take this framework.jar file and modify it to also contain what's required for pdroid, so it will have what's needed for pdroid, and have the smooth scroll mod all at the same time.

I put in both patches last night. Yours first. I've downloaded 4-5 apps since they were both downloaded & I get the notification from pdroid, mark my settings & I haven't had any problems with any of my apps so far. What problems are you running into?
