Help Moment 2.1 Update Thread

Thanks for the replies guys. I know of the new version. Sorry, my flash isn't working at all and wanted to see what others have found since installing 2.1 my mistake for lack of proper wording. :)
 
When you go into camera is your flash setting on "auto" or "On" or "off". I think someone had posted before that the flash had to be "on" or "auto" atleast for moment flash to work.
 
Kind off topic, I have DD10, Live wallpaper, and lots of other goddies. I took my phone off the charger at 6:00pst and now at 12:16pst, I still show full battery. I haven't used that phone that much, but several calls, a little tinkering so I could help people out with their posts but it seems pretty good right now. Maybe DD10 has better battery life??
 
has anyone gotten swype working? It was working great with CL14, but haven't gotten it to work. Also, has anyone been experiencing problems with receiving SMS? I use Handcent and Google Voice -- I usually disable the notifications in Google Voice and the native Messaging app, then enable within Handcent. Doesn't look like I'm getting any notification though.
Curious if that rings a bell with anyone.
All else is awesome.

Swype works fine for me
 
Good to know.. I'm having that problem where, I've installed it and enabled it.. the kb comes up when I tap an input box, but after I Swype a word, the keyboard flashes and doesn't type it. This happened when I first installed. I'll work it out.

I'm having the same problem. I've unistalled it, wiped it from the SD card, rebooted it, redownloaded it, pushed it back to the system app folder via root explorer, reinstalled it to no avail. It worked fine for me on DD03.

You dont have to put swype in the system folder.
 
Has anyone had any problems with Notifications-- specifically for SMS? I've been trying to figure this out all day. I flashed to 2.1 to DD10. I restored a MyBackup, part of which was Handcent. Restored all backed up text messages, disabled notifications in regular messaging app. I thought Handcent might be the problem, so I tried uninstalling, and still nothing. I've checked all of the notification settings. Any ideas?

UPDATE:
I figured it out-- turns out that when I resinstalled Google Voice on my phone, in the process, it disabled the forwarding of text messages to from Google Voice number to my Cell phone. I went to GV settings in my desktop browser, then the Phones tab, then Edit (next to the cell phone number), and you'll see the setting in there. Man.. I uninstalled a lot of things troubleshooting this. :)
 
I flashed yesterday and everything is working great so far. My only concern so far is the battery life -- can't tell yet if it's accurate. Swype is my new best friend. Have installed Live Wallpaper, but not sure I'll want to use them and might uninstall it.

2.1 is a very good thing. :)
 
I there any reason to keep the update files on the SD card? Like the DD10 Update zip and DD10 tar files? I have copies on my computer, just don't know if there is any reason to keep them on the SD.

I keep them on there, however I have plenty of space on my two 16gb cards =D
 
Anyone else suffering a fast draining battery on dd10? Even when not using live wallpaper? Also my phone gets very hot too...

Lastly, when I checked to see what was running, it showed like 90 something for android.process or something along with a small number for the screens usage

Today I noticed that. From about 7-11am, I was down below 50% --I ran Navigation for about 5-10 mins, but other than that, wasn't on it much.
Eh.. I'll check spare parts and see if I can pinpoint anything.
Other than that, battery drain hasn't been too bad. But honestly, I've just gotten used to being close to a charger...
 
For those interested: Haptic keyboard option was moved in DD03 and DD10. To enable, option as before in settings, but then go to Language and Keyboard, then Android Keyboard. Select Vibrate on keypress and that's it.
 
I've been playing with Joey's and Caulkins ROMS / kernels and I had to go back to 1.5. The battery was being sucked so fast it was ridiculous. Worse than 1.5 before the fix. Is there something I did wrong? First loaded Joey DD03. then did Caulkins DD10 1.3 plus the restore and on top Joeys v5 root. Battery still sucks. Went back to 1.5 cl14 where I can get two to three days on a charge

I've been having the same issue with the battery life. It definitely gets warmer than it was before 2.1, too. I have no idea what the problem could be. I'm lucky to get 8 hours now. 6 is more common.
 
So I flasked my phone to 2.1 last night and love it, the only thing I would like to figure out is how to run live wallpapers? I did not root it yet do I need to root before I can use live wallpapers? I downloaded a bunch of them but can't open or set them as my wallpaper. That is pretty much the only issue I have with 2.1
