Okay, so I'm trying to partition my sd card with gparted. But I can't get it too boot.

Here is where I got gparted. I clicked in the top blue box, download stable releases
GParted -- Download

Is that right?

Then I used a program MagicISO, clicked burn with ISO. I clicked the whole file I downloaded.

Then I turned off computer. Turned it back on. hit F10, selected what I think to be the cd, but then it just boots up windows like normal? What am I doing wrong. Running Windows 7

On a side note, I'm loving oxygen's battery life

I went to the bios, and and set usbCDrom or something very similar to number one, and it still didn't work.

Here is a pic of what the cd shows in explorer

I actually got it to boot once. But I was using a card reader built in my laptop and never did recognize the sd card. I was going to restart it, and use my usb cable with my phone, but I haven't been able to get it boot since. I think my cd drive is messed up to be honest, because it took me popping the disk in and out 4 or 5 times before it recognized so I could take that picture.

Okay, I got it to reboot again, but I still can't get it to find my card? Any tricks to that?

does it matter if I use my card reader or my phone?

Edit: Also, I'm running Oxygen. Ext2/3/4? Which one?

If you use a phone, must be in recovery and mount usb mass storage. You can also use a card reader if you wish.

I would probably use EXT4 now if I was creating an EXT partition. Although I would have to stop using CWM 2.5.0.7 (dont think thats an issue for you).

I'm using 2.5.0.9

Will I be okay with ext4?

EDIT: So I got it to work, created the ext4 partition. But now my phone says the card is damaged, and won't mount. Should I just try it again? did I disconnect it wrong?

Okay, I've tried it four times or so now. Never works. I've tried ext3, ext4. Putting the ext first, then the fat32. I don't know. When I go back to gparted after it failing, when I don't let the phone format it, it says the fat32 part in unknown, but recognizes the ext

SUroot, did you mean formatting? I deleted what was there, freated a fat32 and then a 1gb ext3/4. Then i hit apply. And do you think that I should try it with my card reader instead of my phone?

Rastaman, what is test thing you're talking about?

Format the fat32 in gparted or windows. Use as a reader.

H2testw is a flash memory tester. See toolbox thread

I thought that was what I doing. So how do I use gparted to format the card. I've just been following the video tutorial.

Yep, that would be perfect. Also try copying the minimum data (i.e backups) on their own and see how it acts in the phone. Sometimes a dodgy file can corrupt the file system

I will. But it was acting damaged before I ever put anything on the phone
