Root Most stable 2.2?

ORTRTA is basically a combo-ROM. It's a hefty-sized package that Adrynalyne put together that encompasses his FrankenROM series as well as his Second Wave/Third Wave series. Basically, it starts out Sense w/DInc 2nd leak framework, plus tweaks, and if you run his mod scripts on it, you can make it vanilla, or make it sense/vanilla using the EVO framework.

it's basically 4 ROMs in one, depending on how you like you toast.

I am liking Skyraider 2.52 sense, but the notification lights do not seem to work...

I may try Frankenrom, since adrynalyne takes care in his work. Does notification lights work? Simple things drive me mad.

I installed the Hydra .5 stock kernel/under-volt and got LED notifications. Couldn't be happier with SkyRaider 2.5.2 Vanilla and the Hydra kernel.

Just my $.02

Wow, so why doesnt everyone have that rom? Sounds like it would suit everyone perfectly.

Uh-oh, whats wrong with 2.05? Thats what i'm running.

I haven't noticed anything funny. Is there something I should be looking for?

Me too. I don't mind flashing the phone but I really dont want to go through the hassle reinstalling my apps w/ titanium and personalizing my screens. I've spent hours getting this far (sky raider w/ sense and 2.05)

ive been using the the leaked ota for a couple weeks now and haven't had one problem yet. i even installed hydra kernel no problem. has sense ui, too

For folks that have notifiaction lights working, are you using the kernel that came with Skyraider, or a different one? I am using what came with Sky.

I'm running SkyRaider 2.5.2 (Sense) with King's #2 kernel. No issues so far that I can see. Runs very fast. I may be having the problem with internet usage eating my battery pretty quickly but it also is probably too soon to tell. Just rooted and installed the ROM Sunday and loaded the new kernel yesterday. Also, my notifications lights work fine.

Are there any ROMs that aren't built off of Sense other than CM6? I know that some have the Vanilla look, but they still don't have the full bluetooth stack. Without the full bluetooth stack, I can't use my wiimote to play NES/SNES/Genesis/Gameboy, and if I can't do that, well then what's the point of having a phone?

CM6 works MOST of the time for me, but sometimes I get some weird FCs that I can't explain. I really want a stock Android ROM that will be a bit less buggy.

I think Koush/Cyanogen is the only one off real vanilla ROM.

To those on the fence about rooting, flashing radios, etc.

I've been running stock 2.1 rooted for a few weeks now waiting for Verizon to even give us a timeframe, let alone relase the OTA. I'm honestly feel like they're not going to release it, so screw them. I went S-OFF, then flashed the 2.15 radio and loaded the latest FrankenROM, I really wish I did this sooner. Not only is 2.2 faster and the radio giving me a better and stronger signal, but all the little bugs like random reboots, etc are now gone. I love this phone even more now. Do it.

Now I'm debating on what kernal to install. The FrankenROM I'm running does have Sense, any suggestions on a good stable kernal for this ROM?

The stock kernel that Adrynalyne put in Frank is very good, if you have not installed b6, you might grab his modified kernel that enables the conservative governor. I am using King#3 (OC to 1.19) and it has been very stable also for me. YMMV when overclocking, some have had stability issues above 1.15.
