Root Motion Bootloader unlocked!!!

So far from what I've seen, I think this will work for us too. Not sure though.

I hope it does. We need it, and I'm not saying for overclocking.

well somethings work and some don't, we had to find another root. the motion root soft bricked our phone. so I don't hold my breath.
 
I hope we can find done way to use this.we need an unlocked broader for the spirit.I'm working on an asop Rom fit 4.2.Can't get anywhere cause of soft brick when I try to boot this could let Mr see if my monstrosity actually somewhat works.
 
Yeah unfortunately. I was hoping sammyz had gotten it working. Because once they get it, it wouldn't be long before we got ours.

Didnt work for us, it wont work for you...but anyways heres what i did:
1) erased boot partition with dd commands to get into fastboot
2) rebooted into fastboot
3) erased aboot
4) flashed vs870 aboot
5) rebooted
6) booted into vs870 fastboot (unable to see anything on my screen due to garbage it loads from vs870 display drivers)
7) ran oem unlock cmd
8) flashed motion boot.img
9) fastboot continue
10) booted
11) thought it was successfully unlocked so i asked shabby to make an unsigned boot.img
12) he posted the screenshot of chat log
13) i flashed unsigned boot.img only to figure out its not ever going to boot (stuck in garbage screen probably saying something about morningcall), time to unbrick.

And here i am running stock right now without root.

BTW: I still have my optimus m phone with your ROM still on it. :D
 
kind of beating a dead horse here, but i hope with teh recent scare in that thread that shall not be mentioned. people are a bit more hesitant to just flashing stuff willy nilly. to those it affected, i am truly sorry (i know its not my fault but still...)

it always sucks having to pay the price because someone wanted 15 mins.


(this is relevant to the topic at hand due to the whole bootloader fiasco :P )

No need to apologize bro. Yeah. It does suck. I'm just glad I wanted. Although I was very tempted to try it.

Agreed

Note to all, I highly suggest only trusting such things from reputable devs or members. And also that said mod etc have been tested and verified to work prior to it being posted and proof more than 'it said it worked'! ;)
 
Yea. I got a little reckless and installed a random unlocked with out checking up it so I soft bricked. It wouldn't of been that bad but UPtestEx wouldn't run on my girls comp so I had to install a VM with xp on it
