Ill be posting my own video in the morning but I exported 3303 raw files to jpg keep them in their original resolution and selecting the max setting for picture quality. I loaded my card up with junk in other folders and it is now sitting at almost 13GB's full and I can scroll back and forth through the gallery as fast as I can swipe the screen.. No lag, No little white boxes... So what am I doing wrong?
Bruceo, when I started reading this thread, I thought you were just another Idiot troller looking to create unrest. I must say that my opinion has changed and I agree with you and understand where you are coming from. Though I have to point out, the Droid was never advertised as being better than an Idevice. Just capable of doing things it could not. The inverse could also be applied, Idevices can do things the Droid can not. (like have pretty and cute looking cases, and scroll through images faster)
I can honestly say I have never heard of anyone using their phone to backup a raid drive until now. Still scratching my head on that one. Seriously, though. I have like maybe 30-50 family/friend photos on my phone that I always carry around. A few hundred on my PC/external backup. I could put them all my phone, but why? More room for music, which is currently taking up about 12 gig of space on my phone, 120 gig on my PC/backup.
1) Bruceo has mentioned in other posts that he clearly has a messed up DROID. I think he called it a "lemon" at one point and time. I think that should render any of his conclusions on the phone as being moot and irrelevant to the general DROID owning public. I mean the guy returned it for another phone it was so messed up!
2) Bruceo, you have still failed to answer my question. Even though others are experiencing DIFFERENT outcomes with the same file load on their SD card, there is CLEARLY something going on with your SPECIFIC DROID that is skewing the results. That being said, you haven't answered my question:
So, you've tried different class SD cards on your DROID and even touted the capabilities of the iPhone, being the tech-geek that you so profusely claim, can you tell me the difference between the iPhone/iPod's ability and speed to access its onboard NAND flash memory compared to the DROIDs ability and speed to access its SD card memory and how that can affect file retrieval rate?
Or, do you think that's irrelevant and believe it's completely fair to compare apples to oranges?
The files are all straight .jpg exports of raw format pictures taken either with my wife's Nikon D40 or my Canon. There are 3,303 files in the picture folder in cast it wasn't clear enough in the video.
jkhmmmmmmmmmmm
i think i saw a boob!jk
wonder if the thumbs were loading in the beginning while you were playing with the first couple photos! trickery! maybe?
Lol, seriously? I opened the file to show you they were full size real files and not little tiny pics, since I figure that would be the first thing the creator of this thread would claim. I can make another one where I start to scroll as soo as I open the folder if people really want me too.
I still think the video demonstrates pretty clearly that the OP either has a bum phone or an agenda...
thanks for going through all the trouble of doing that for the thread!Lol, seriously? Thanks for posting that! Nice to knowb that even a full. Sd card and high rez photos that it can scroll smooth. I wonder if dxtop is creating too much overhead. Even typing this post I have a ton of lag. I have resigned myself to returning both the droid ands eris. And going back to my crappy. Touch pro until htc comes out with their os on fsster hardware I'm sure it is just around the corner. I'm going to go ahead and do a hard rest just to figure out wherehopefuthe underlying issue lies..
Why would you need to with 32GC full performance beats the SD sotrage because it lags the phone more as you fill it up. I have a class 6 and it lags like as in the video. use the affordable class 2 and it is at least 5 times worse.
That statement right there tells us all you're a douche. You know god-dammed well that micro-sd cards are slower than built in memory, yet you constantly slam the Droid over the iPhone/iPod Touch. Get a freaking iPhone and stop bitching.
Your an idiot, i came out and said what everyone knows. Why in the hell would you need to scroll that dam fast and cant even see what the hell your looking for. Look hard enough and you find stuff. Dumb ass post sheesh

As I remember you took a different point of view when you posted about the Droid not having a basic Bluetooth operation like voice dialing. You said we shouldn't expect the Droid to do something as complicated as Bluetooth voice dialing. When others have a honest expectation they are young and foolish. When you have an expectation then the manufacturer should listen and rise to your occasion. I think I got it now.![]()
1. he's handling the touch screen on the device completely different. Watch how rough and spastic he's hitting the droid. That's a biased review.
2. Apples and oranges. The droid has way more going on in the back ground that the ipod doesn't.
3. There's an app for that...Gallery multi touch in the android market place.
4. WHO CARES? It's lame to go on a android forum and tout a different phone....it lack class.
2. Yeah I guess it is apples & oranges an older proc Ipod beats the droid by far. There was nothing running in the bg but that is supposed to be a benefit not a hindrance.
