I just gotthemoto g prepaid phone andi found out that they blocked mobile hotspot if I were to root this phone will I've able tohabemlbilhotspot on phone

Rooting instructions for your device can be found here:

http://androidforums.com/internatio...-moto-g-unlock-boot-loader-root-recovery.html

If you let us know whether you have the international or what carrier you have we can get this moved to the proper all things root forum.

There are ROMS such as cm11 available for you phone, which would have tethering enabled by default on the phone side.

Now, your carrier can still block it on their end. That is going to depend on your carrier though.

Also note, tethering may break your terms of service (TOS) with your carrier. Breaking your TOS can be grounds for them cutting off your service, but is not against the law.

Switch to the new Verizon Allset prepaid plans. I believe those support Mobile Hotspot. With 3G speeds though, not sure how useful that is.

That said, the Allset should cost you less than your current plan. It's just $45 for unlimited talk & text, and 500MB data. If you need more data, you can add the following data buckets:

  • 500 MB for $5 with 30-day expiration
  • 1 GB for $10 with 90-day expiration
  • 3 GB for $20 with 90-day expiration

I've been searching the web about this and found out at one time it did, but has been removed. Even the users manual says it does. I'm with Verizon prepaid Allset and my contract says hotspot support is covered, but phone doesn't have it.

I'm pretty sure it was enabled on 4.3 jb on my Moto G before I accepted the ota to 4.4 KK. I wonder if someone could use some of the 4.3 ROM mixed into the stock KK ROM...
