Moto G

Ugh oh.

Someone's going to loose the attack Alfick.

:D

Nah, no attack. :) Just want to know so I can compare the speeds. I don't have the Moto G yet, but I'm hoping that the Dallas area will give me some nice (between 8 and 12 meg download) speeds.

If you don't mind, where did he activate it on Metro (I don't need to know the street address, just what city/state)? Thanks.

Hackensack NJ which is about 15 minutes from NYC. I only ran a couple of speed tests about 5 mins apart. I just talked to him and he said he's been getting solid 7-14 mbps download. He doesn't miss LTE at all. At least not Metros LTE. He's streaming videos smoothly. He's loving it so far. Only issue is he cant figure out how to enable battery percentage on the status bar in the same area where the battery indicator is.

Its not a part of kitkat. Just get some app from the market.

I bought Moto G few days ago and its on its way. First thing I'm going to do is update to kitkat and switch it to ARM compiling. I have N7 2013 and I get over the roof battery life with ARM. Not to mention it's snappier and screen is more responsive.

Nice. I'm looking forward to being able to purchase one of these.

Picked up the verizon version as a spare line. Put it on the 2gb plan. Phone performs great. I actually like it alot better than my old nexus 4, ive owned a s4,htc one, and a nexus 4 in the last year and i actually use the g just as much as my htc one. Now im not saying the phone is as good as the one but its not far off especially for the price. Screen is much better than the n4 plus it doesnt have the gpu/cpu temp throttle the n4 has. Great little phone.

I got mine yesterday. Activation was pretty simple. First thing is I got kitkat, then all I had to do is dial 611 and then press 0 three times to get representative. Since I had sim card all i gave to them is new IMEI and confirmed SIM id. I used Motorola Mirage to transfer all useful info in 10 minutes. I get 13mbps download. Phone is nice and smooth. Screen is very responsive and its very easy to type on. It's also bright and colors look great. No word for a battery life, since I just got it. I would encourage to get 16gb version to anyone who play manyy games. You only get few gigs left on 8gb version after all installs.

I might be getting another one since I smashed my F3 screen yesterday.

16 gig is best bet for anyone games or none you will thank yourself later as for battery well good luck killing it in a day

This phone raises the bar for call quality, durability, and battery life for all phones in the price range of 200$ and up. This is a good thing. The core features of the phone, such as calls and texts, have not seen any improvements. Is the phone using VoLTE to improve quality or is it the mic/hardware ?

Dirty, I'm confused; why did you ask why it was a good phone.

Because even though I own it I am still like there has got to be something wrong its like who makes a phone that well this cheap, in short taking a bite of pie and asking "why are you so good"

Not VoLTE but it's using the same HD Voice codec as VoLTE, when doing an HD Voice call.

Dee I thoroughly understand your glee :D but it's not completely unheard of you know.

I say the same thing goes for the Spirit. That phone is WAY better than it "has any right to be" for the price.

I'm putting mine in the mail to it's new owner today and I'm STILL sad to see it go even having a N4 to replace it. It's perhaps the BEST android phone I've had so far.

No LTE and SD Card slot are a bummer, but I got over it...those are about the only down side to the MG.

...since its on this thread, it works on MPCS.
How is the radio?
No lte? So it uses the HSPA+ band?
Does anyone have the dl/ul speeds?
