Wow if I was on AT&T I would be absolutely salivating right now...crazy specs! I wouldn't have expected AT&T of all carriers to have a beast such as this.
This....is an amazing phone. I am kinda envious of AT&T users now. I'm on Verizon. They have its cousin the Bionic. A really want that phone too.
I just moved into a bad reception area for Verizon. I might be switching carriers. If I do it will be between Sprint and AT&T if LTE on Verizon doesnt help my reception.
This.....is an amazing phone.
This Atrix is hands down the best Android phone ever created. Nobody even comes close.![]()
Ever is a strong word.
When dual core 1.5 ghz phones come out.
You will be proven wrong since "ever" encompasses the future as well.
sorry... my pedantic brother is wearing off on me.

Hi folks. just wondering if you think AT&T will offer this phone for sale without contract. If so, can it be unlocked. Looking to buy and take over to Ireland?
Cheers

The physical design looks OK. I mean, it looks like just about every other late gen phone on the market, but I really like what's going on under-the-hood.![]()
Yea it could of used a bit more flair
I figure it'll wind up in some sort of case, so as long as the screen looks good and it runs the way it should, I'll be happy!
Heck, the woman's iPhone 4 is a glorious piece of industrial design, but it's mostly covered up too.
How long do you think AT&T will let people who were grandfathered in keep their unlimited data plans? They can't just take it but they can say that if you sign a new contract then you won't have unlimited data anymore. I'm assuming when they get LTE up and running it may happen but at the very least there will probably be an extra charge like Sprint does with the EVO.
I've upgraded a few times and have an unlimted plan.
However, I don't think we will be able to keep it any longer when going to a "4G" phone. I don't have hard evidence, but I'm guessing they will say all "4G'' phones require a new data plan.
Of course, if this is the case, then many of us will be buying the new phone and not have the hspa+ in our areas, but will still be stuck with new rates because of the device we carry. And, we'll be doing so even though HSPA+ is technically not "4G".
I agree that when LTE arrives we'll probably see a surcharge like sprint is doing with their WiMax phones, but I don't think we'll see rate changes for HSPA+. At the bottom of the Atrix landing page for AT&T they say the rates and they're the same.
MOTOROLA ATRIX 4G - Android 2.2 Smartphone - Wireless from AT&T
Maybe not. I just upgraded my 3G modem 2 weeks ago that I use for work and the salesperson at an AT&T corporate store sold me on the latest from LG that will handle 4G via a software upgrade. I asked him since I was signing a new contract will I still be grandfathered in on my unlimited plan and he said yes. As long as I have an account that has the unlimited plan, that plan will not change. He also said that AT&T will be offering an unlimited plan again sometime soon but could not confirm when or any other details.
So if you have the unlimited plan, I think you will be able to keep it and if you don't you might have an unlimited plan available to you soon.
