The other one for for Motorola to release Jelly Bean. This one is to just give us the source we can release what ever we choose, Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, Key Lime Pie etc, etc. With this source code we can release what ever we want and also fix HDMI as it's also proprietary as well.
Hey g60,
Is the camera source code needed to get it working under ICS, or is this a general request for Motorola so the community can better support the phone? I'm just curious since there have been a lot of positive posts from you in regards to getting the camera running under CM9. I'm just wondering if you've hit a development wall, which requires the source code, or of this is to make every developer's life easier. Thank you for your work and for supporting our phone!
The only work the MTDEV would be working on is finding new and exciting ports of Android (MIUI, AOKP, Phandroid, etc) and release those as well for the Triumph.Signed and sending to some freinds who have mt and also x6 variants
Dorregaray has been hands down simply amazing in assisting our Motorola Community with the Camera. With out his help we wouldn't be where we are right now at all, as I am not technically adverse enough in C++. We are currently still struggling with the SIGV errors but slowly getting there as we are now building a new libcamera.so based on CAF (Code Aurora Forums) source code which also includes our msm_camera.h from our kernel. Once we collect enough logs using adb and gdb we should be able to go back and make tweaks to the code to resolve our current libcamera.so. So we are still making progress it's just taking a long time.
However to answer your question if we had the source code we would have already solved all our main issues (Camera and HDMI) already and just be waiting for the CM Team or Google for the next release of Android. Since we have never been given any source code accept the kernel it's been an uphill struggle with everything, be it Camera, GPS, Wifi, Audio, Light Sensors, etc. TickerGuy helped resolve a lot of those issues with CM7 but even his Camera hacks where based off the Camera Libraries from the Cherry Mobile phone.
With source code we could just build everything out right and not have to be hassling so much with the code. Just copy and paste in the Motorola code, build, release and be done with itThe only work the MTDEV would be working on is finding new and exciting ports of Android (MIUI, AOKP, Phandroid, etc) and release those as well for the Triumph.
I also posted on XDA in the x6 area as well.

how many do we need ?

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. Just a little frustrated by the fact that my phone is not even a year old and they want me to buy another one already!Remember their gracious offer of $100 discount on a new phone.Sorry, I just couldn't resist. I am contacting you today regarding an online petition I am working on for requesting open source software code from Motorola Mobility Inc. This petition is asking Motorola to release software for the Motorola Triumph (an Android cell phone) so developers like myself can take the code and release an updated version of Android for the masses. The travesty is that Motorola promised customers they would upgrade the phone or give the customer $100.00 towards the purchase of another phone.

The issue with this lies in the fact that Motorola is now forcing customers to leave a pay per month service with Virgin Mobile and then move into a contractual agreement with AT&T or Verizon by taking this $100.00 for a new phone. I am contacting today and asking you for your support to sign this petition and also allowing me to add you as my elected official on this petition.

I would really appreciate your assistance in this matter.
