Help Mounting issues with pc

My pc recognizes that the phone is hooked up but it does't show under "my computer". I transfered files off my S3 to my laptop to put on my S4 and now I can't. Help please?
 
I'm not sure. I usually just go to menus and click "my computer" and it's there. thats really the only way I ever knew how.
 
It keeps going from Mount to Installer. Back and forth. No way to stop or control it. The Verizon/Samsung updater freezes on instal too.

Is their another way to transfer files? Other software?
 
OP, were you able to instal the samsung updater? And what service do you have? I am Verizon. Mine crashed on instal. Thinking if I cant get it to instal somehow it will stop going back and forth between that and mount. At this point I am dead in the water without a solution.
 
If you cant get it to work maybe Samsung Kies or Samsung Link to transfer files would be a better route....if that can work for you. I cant get my phone to show up either, but I've been using Samsung Link and it works great. You can register your pc, link it to the phone, and pull up any files from the pc on the phone, send files to the phone, save them, etc.

Have you tried different USB cables? Sometimes they give weird results if the contacts are not 100%.

I have one cable that will charge the phone but never mount it. Others works just fine.

Just a thought.....
