Movers from DX... ANY Regrets?

Wolfedude88, I hope you adhered to the fact that prior to use you should fully charge the battery.. and with lithium batteries it's typically best to let them sit on the charger a few hours beyond the phone saying it's fully charged for the battery's first charge :o

I do believe this is myth. I read a very long thread either here or at droid forums in my searches that discussed this in depth and one of the guys who is in battery tech basically was saying that these batteries dont develope a "memory" like batteries of the past. I was planning wearing mine out before first charge so it runs a full cycle from 0% to 100% overnight. If they still actually DO develope memory, I would believe this to be the best method for its first charge. I could be wrong but I will still stick to my orignal plan as it is too late to turn back now. Love the phone by the way.

I've heard draining your batteries before charging isn't nearly as important with Lithium Ion batteries as it was with traditional batteries. While it will make a difference, it's not near as big of a deal as it used to be.

Yeah for the most part. I did make an effort to fully drain it the first time or three. But now when I go to bed I charge it; whether its at 14% or 58% whatever it is, it gets charged

You have to be wrong because this is what they told me to do at the verizon store! :p

Lithium-ion batteries don't create a memory effect, so you don't need to fully drain them before charging them again. I've heard/read from some places that it still helps to condition the battery by fully draining it/fully charging it for the first few cycles, but then there's other sources that say this isn't needed.. kind of makes you wonder which is best or if it's even worth worrying about. HOWEVER, by purposely draining the battery before putting it on the charger, you're just wasting charge cycles. Each cycle is using 100% worth of battery life irregardless of when you charge the battery (ie using 70% of the battery's charge, charging it, and then using 30% worth of life after the charge).

Yeah, just to be safe I fully drained my wife and my batteries the first few times before charging.

A little confused by your logic here. So you're saying that whether the battery is dead or not you still have to charge it? Well sure, but if there is a little bit of memory effect the first few charges you may extend overall said battery life by draining it first.

But what do I know.

Well I haven't owned an X but I have used one, and I can say the call quality is better than on my fascinate. I hope I can get use to it because it annoys the f*** out of me right now.
