Just got done installing and partitioning a new SD Card, followed all the procedures and everything seems well, but as I type, my status bar says I have one day left to copy the contents of the old card on my computer to the new card...I am at about 88kb sec transfer wth? any idears?:confused:
 
Does it give you the name of the file that it's stuck with?

Try starting again, omitting the file that's causing an issue, then copying that on its own once everything else has finished.

Ive cancelled it a couple times, tried one file at a time and it just bogs down, Ive tried it in the phone, and in a card reader through a usb port, always a glitch seems like, this is taking forever
 
Have you checked out the integrity of the SD Card? It could be corrupt (or even fake if bought from somewhere like eBay etc). There's an app called H2testw which can test things for you.

do you have a card reader? IF so put the card in that and check it out on windows. Copy a few files from it to windows and vice versa and see what you transfer limits are.
 
I took that card out and doing a new partition on another card I had, but its only half the size, but I know this card is good.....back in a few
 
OK I partitioned this card, set my swap to 32, ext2 to 1024, remainder in Fat32, hit partition, it completes and then I select upgrade ext2 to ext3, it does its thing, I toggle USB, and try to move my backup onto the card, and it just bogs down, I know this card to be good!....I took it out of the phone and back in the reader, now its going....weird...so maybe I need to send this new card back,
