Yes you would likely lose root, XDA should have a rooted version of the update out in the next few days (if that long)

All set with the new OTA... first thing I noticed is they changed the boot screen... took away the clouds on the Thunderbolt screen

Changed the icon and YES, if you try to turn it on, you are now prompted about a subscription
