MR2 OTA is expected to released tonight (07/08/11)

one of the enhancements listed was view app menu in tabbed layout.... was this left out or am i missing something??

I was wondering the same thing. They probably had to take it out of the OTA to make room for all of the bloatware they added.

Or they copy and pasted much of the info on the PDF and that line was supposed to be on the GB update, not this one... GB Sense has the tabbed app drawer.

Same with the NY Times bookmark

The tabbed drawer has nothing to do with froyo or gb. The incredible 2 has the tabs and its on froyo

Even though the PDF says it... there's no NY Times bookmark for me... anyone actually get it added?

Ran it this morning on all three of our TBs.

Nope.. no NY Times bm. Also... My phone is at baseband of 0627r/0625r now. Not what's shown in the pdf 0613w/0613w_1.

A couple of other things not on the phone that are listed in the pdf.

It took about a 1/2 hour to download and install itself (on 3G), but everything is as smooth as can be today. It's not Gingerbread, but it'll do for now! :D

Tried pulling the update, no dice. I'm not rooted and fortunately never got the update that caused all the reboots. I would like to see some better battery life though. Not sure if this update will help though? I'm beginning to think Verizon has forgotten about me...no update before, no update now...lol.

So the update is Available for me. Should I get it or not?

I would say yeah. Overall the phone feels less sluggish. GPS definitely locks faster. It locks inside my apartment and at work in areas where it never would before. I haven't had it long enough to really say if reboots are gone or not but it hasn't rebooted since the update.

Agreed.

But it kills the free hotspot and adds more BE bloatware right?

No sign here, I mean it says "checking", then nothing, doesn't say error, or no update found, etc. So, what am I missing?

I have the same issue and tried everything that I could think of. I called Verizon and got technical support. The tech guy has a TB as well and was getting an error message on checking for an update. He added my information and phone number to a list for HTC. They are supposed to send me a text or manually push it to my phone.

SIDE NOTE: Sad news... he said GB for the TB is on the list for being handled in NOVEMBER. UGH!!!!! I hope he is wrong.....

Same issue here... I'm so tired of this nonsense

Downloading now

I figured this would be available today...when I did the check for update last evening, it kept responding that the service was unavailable; same thing they did right before the last OTA release.

Another friendly Verizon addition - VCast link at the bottom of the Music app... just like the Inc2

And in the Gallery, when you hit menu, link for VCast Videos...

Updated fine. Took about 10 mins total. Seems to be a bit quicker overall, a few new app icons, and some new data monitoring widget. I had no reboots after the last update so cannot comment on whether or not this one has helped.

My first attempt was at 11:00 am.I kept getting the server unavailable message.I tried about twice an hour until about 5:00 pm when it finally went through

Battery life looks good so far. Now to see of keyboard lag will be gone also. Hope this is good things to come for the bolt

Well, shit. Did my update last night and things seemed to go smoothly. About 2 hours ago the data usage widget disconnected and is constantly trying to reconnect and can't. It's giving me 3 different error messages.

Just talked to a level 2 tech for 45 minutes and looks like something went awry and it's time to do a factory reset. He assured me that things could go wrong and not to ignore it and carry on.

Well I guess it's time to finally do it. Poo.
