Root MTDEV 2013 Planning

I figure we should at least remain open to the community of what is planned for the Triumph for the next year. Here is what I see panning out, along with some suggestions for the next year. These are just predictions. Feel free to comment and add your own ideas of what to do. This applies especially to the rest of MTDEV.

  • dsmryder and Bsydz taking over where Chairshot and g60 left off
  • possible camera results from dorregay
  • g60 maybe touching some things up with more experience under his belt, if he has the time
  • a massive FAQ update from me, perhaps also a sharp and CM9 FAQ
  • maybe a FAQ for MIUI when we get to that
  • update the MTDEV GB ROM
  • maybe we should create an MTDEV variant of MIUI v2 (based off of GB) with most things working, with patches taken in from MTDEV CM7
  • updating MTDEV CM10, at least to the point where it as as usable as MTDEV CM9 currently
  • updating MIUI v4
  • perhaps creating a new MIUI based of JB when time provides
  • a sprawl of new FAQs as these new ROMs may appear
  • and most importantly, doing whatever we can to fix that camera!
  • continued update notifications from me for Adobe Flash Player until Adobe stops the security updates in September 2013
  • perhaps it is time to recruit some more people for MTDEV
  • funding drives and breaks when needed
None of this is set in stone. Most of these are just predictions. I know I am aiming for the sky. Don't ask for ETAs. That is the golden rule. As I said before, anyone from MTDEV is free to comment on anything to add, remove, or clarify. Don't expect all of these to come true overnight. This is just some brainstorming.

I think I speak for many when i say priorities 1 - 17 are camera, camera, camera, camera - well, you get the idea.

But even if we never get that, I'd like to at least says thanks to all the people who helped take us to where we did get. I really like my phone with the various flavors of Gingerbread I've tried since this forum started. It's a great phone, regardless of how many call it junk. And that's because of the developers here. It may never get any better, but I had no right to expect it would ever get better than what I took out of the box back in July 2011. But it did. Greatly so. So, thanks devs.

And Merry Christmas (or whatever you might celebrate) to all.

Looks do-able. I have a bunch of ideas that I hope tp bring in the coming months. One main thing is the hard parts have been done already, getting the things to boot. Now all I have is mainly tweaking things. One thing I really hope to bring is the data control idea I have. Basicly think of it as Juice Defender built in and made specificly for our phone. Another is updating the calculator and some of the apps to have the functionality I want (and you want if you tell me). And more that I can't think of a the moment.

Basicly I hope to learn enough to turn this into a carreer as my current one (I'm a mechanic) is breaking down my body. I think I would rather sit in front of a computer all day and make stuff instead of forcing things in and out of place.

You are not alone. I also plan to use this to assist me possibly in my task of learning C next semester. Perhaps my programming knowledge will assist us in the future, and hopefully all this work will help me with learning programming soon. Also, an update. I have nothing to do now worth anything (just watch TV and play games) so I am updating the FAQ. On Christmas Eve. Only since it hasn't been updated in four months. I am also creating one for CM9. Stay tuned for updates. This will be a while until everything is cooked up. I've gotten started on the FAQ here. All are free to comment. It would be appreciated if someone gave me a bunch of ideas for some extra questions. I know how to answer, just don't know if I'm missing anything someone would ask about CM7.

i'm really waiting for gb rom, the one with broken 3g.
maybe Bsydz will crack the code and give us sharp 2.3.5 :)

Wouldn't be worth it. I forget why, but some time back, MTDEV decided not to. It would have the same issues as CM7 somehow.

did anyone ever try and build cm6?

I tried to get it to build. One of the problems is the documentation has been taken down as it doesn't hold true to GB and later. That nad it's old news. FroYo used Java 1.5 and different methods to make the OS your own. And the goal was just to learn how it's done. I thought I may of had a chance at HDMI, just because the code would have been simular to the Stock ROM that I was going to decompile the two and see what there was. I still had the idea of trying to change out some of the build folders and see what the computer vommited up. You know, just to see. Anyway, CM6 isn't close on my RaDAR
