Your personal thoughts of the ROM:
I used best experiences of all roms tried to compare my scores. 3g works great and speed is great but it seemed that i had slightly better coverage using most recent mtdev ics rom. camera does everything i need it to but i did not do much with camcorder before wiping. only reason i gave that a 9 was i recall the sharp rom having a little less delay with loading and shooting. gps locked pretty quick but it would behave irratically when pinpoiting my position while still. meaning it would keep changing my current location to different spots around my town but not lock on my actual location unless i was actually moving. of course if i was using wifi it worked perfect. wifi locked quick and worked great only reason i gave an 8 was because while using most recent mtdev ics it was almost instantaneous. sms and mms work as expected and i had no issues while testing. speed was quick scrolling smooth etc. battery life was great and have no complaints im just sure theres almost always some room left for trimming fat in that area depending on individual use, so i scored it 9. video performance i kinda accounted for video and gaming in this score. other than known issues, i had some problems with accelerometer response/sensitivity in some games and freeze in some also issues with on screen button response during gameplay at random times. actual video, like streaming surf cams and youtube worked well aside from known problems.

Wifi and 3G are Network Location locks, not GPS locks.

There are various ways to check for a real GPS lock, like look for the GPS icon to stop blinking, or turn off network location so the only type of lock available is a GPS lock, or use an app like GPS Status (and optionally go into settings and enable "Show time to GPS fix"). You can even use all of those methods at the same time.
 
Since my work schedule has increase recently my testing time has been shortened due to the fact that i need the phone for work lol but im still sticking around testing

BETA TEST SCORE CARD

ROM: ROM 2 (Test Length: 2 Days and 5 hours)

3G: (10) I dont think ive ever had an issue with 3g but i may just be in a good service area

Camera: (9) I only took about 2 pictures but aww man were they nice, if i remember right, the stock froyo had an option for a 1080p picture mode and i dont think ive ever had a rom take a picture as good as that, Till this Test Rom, everything set to default settings, the picture sometimes doesnt look as clear in the big picture, but you click the little preview and aww yea lol, i do believe i heard the click sound once or twice while taking the pictures, front camera took pretty decent pics as well

GPS Locks: (8) GPS Test had a lock in 2 seconds using everything but Wifi, Turned the wifi assist on and used google maps and had a lock in about 8-10 seconds and it was only off by 2 houses, after turning everything back off the phone seems to be stuck in 1x for about 2-3 minutes till 3g comes back

Wifi: (10) Not only has my wifi been working well, but i forgot to change the settings so it wouldnt shut off with the screen and when i turned the screen back on my download Immediately Resumed instead of sticking like they normally do

MMS: (N/A)

SMS: (10) Seems to Send and and receive very nicely and fast, both if im receiving or if the person i sent to is receiving

Speed: (10) Speed all round seems nice and stable, and still even with me running ADW Launcher it stays fast and stable

Battery Life: (8) Battery life is still very nice, but it seems even if i have wifi off and nothing on, basically just 3g it sometimes atleast seems to drain faster then some other versions(could just be my mind playing tricks on me tho lol)

Video Performance: (9) Still the Flicker, but extremely nice, played the avatar 1080p trailer on youtube with just 3g and then wifi, of course the wifi test loaded and buffered much faster which caused the video to play smoother, but the 3g played very nice as well, kept up with the trailer so it only stopped to buffer and load maybe once in the 3-4 minutes of 1080p, Also played the game of life which looked excellent but causes the phone to become extremely hot

Your personal thoughts of the ROM: I've had the lockscreen randomly appear on me twice, and its while im actually doing stuff so its not like the phone is trying to goto sleep from inactivity, the strange thing is i run widgetlocker so my lockscreen isnt anything like stock but when the lockscreen randomly appears its the stock lockscreen that shows up

Also this ones a toss up, could just be my speakers, could be something else lol idk, all i know is it didnt seem like this before, directly after i flashed, before i had all the setting and all set, someone called me, since the default volumes are low i couldnt hear them so i held the volume up till i could hear them, except no volume bar showed up and there were no beeps like max volume was reached, now fast forward an hour, i completely got the phone set to how i like, i decide to play some music, i turn it on and notice that the media volume bar only showed half volume, so i turned it up, now, unless i leave it 4-5 clicks lower then max its so crazy loud and distorted lol like Crazy Loud lol, but games, videos, calls and notifications all sound good tho so idk


Also not sure if it was done on purpose but the captive, or bottom buttons have no vibration feedback when pressed ever, everything else like long press and app select does have the vibrate feedback like it should


And the settings within cyanogenmod settings still don't stick till reboot

Im Loving what you guys have been doing with these roms, special shotout to chairshot cause i know hes been working like crazy on them
 
Google Play Market thinks the device is not a Motorola Triumph on Rom 2. Instagram is incompatible but works on Rom 1. Apparently Google Search updating says it isn't compatible with Rom 1.

Building CM9 for the first time... :') Got things set up.
 
I had the same thing happen when I re-flashed CM9 today. I wonder if Google is storing this info and restores it when you sync with your account? Just guessing.

I have been swamped this week, but want to get some thorough testing in and provide useful information. I should be able to finish up with Test1 tonight and have some stats and evals; and get Test2 finished for sure by tomorrow.

Thats Strange cause ive been running Rom 2 for 2 days with no issue, knows what kinda phone it is and after reading ur post i searched instagram and it said nothing about incompatability

Ive had this happen a few times with pretty much all roms, i truly believe its coming from the Privacy section where you can allow Google to both backup and restore things on its own, i with one rom before even had google play open up al on its own and begin to redownload all 20 apps i had before flashing, like right as the phone was booting lol i was like ummm ok, its save me time lol it also had the same wallpaper as before the flash once booted, not really an issue tho cause normally the privacies restore is turned off by default, ive only seen it set to On upon first boot maybe 3 times, i typically turn it on myself after i finish my setups

Don't know why it take 3hr to battery my battery to 16-32% and still charging from my wall charger.

In N.E. Florida I get great 3g service. In central Florida I get horrible service. It can be like that.

And then there's network breathing.
As far as the charging issue, there is a command to see how fast your charge is I think. I think I remember it from one of mantera's posts. I think it was in his ICS thread. Looking now.

Been bad up here lately too. Lately when I listen to streaming radio, I get a lot of buffering. Way more than usual.
 
On my review of ROM 1 above I mentioned the phone turning off and having to pull the battery to restart it. I just wanted to state that this is an issue with my phone, not the ROM. I had just received a replacement Triumph prior to flashing this ROM and the replacement phone they sent me has problems with rebooting and turning itself off from time to time regardless of the ROM I have running on it. So that problem wasn't related to this ROM at all. This is why I never got around to testing ROM #2. I have another replacement phone on the way and once I've received it I'll test out ROM #2.

Just wanted to clarify that.

I tested each ROM for about a day and half to get some numbers recorded and here is what I found....

TEST 1:
Best Performing Gov/IO - Smartass2/cfq (3144 Quadrand / 2572 Smartbench 2012)
Battery Test Time - 269 min / 12% = Est Bat. Life - 37 hours, 22 min
*I forgot to record the CPU usage, but it was set to 122 min and 1.9 max
**No undervolting was used for the battery test
3G Speed - Signal (-99dBm), Ping (319ms), Up (246kbps), Down (476kbps)
Wifi Speed (for comparison) - Ping (78ms), Up (827kbps), Down (1699kbps)
Camera - works well with regular pics, panoramic pics, and recording
Video Playback - Flickers in Portrait (no surprise), works fine in landscape
Aduio - Poweramp ok, and Poweramp/Tunelink Bluetooth work
SMS / MMS - both work fine
Problems:
- When I flashed gapps over this ROM I could not get a third party keyboard to stick. Flashing the ROM w/ no gapps solved the problem.
- SuperUser would not remember my permissions for System Tuner, however, going to the market and updating SU fixed the issue.
- Antutu Benchmark would not work, which is why I switched to Quadrant for Benchmarks and double checked with Smartbench2012
- Overall functionality was good, everything seemed to work just as good as the previous MTDEV-CM7
**I have a nandroid saved from this ROM if anyone wants/needs Logcats for the issues

TEST 2:
Best Performing Governor/IO - Interactive/cfq (3064 Quadrant / 2608 SmartBench2012)
Battery Test - 228min / 13% = Est. Bat. Life - 29 hours, 13.8 min
*CPU Usage - 122 (41%), 1.9 (2%)
**No undervolting used for battery test
3G Speed - Signal (-97dBm), Ping (609ms), Up (207kbps), Down (576kbps)
Wifi - (see problems section)
Camera - pictures, panoramic pictures, and video all work
Video Playback - no flicker in EITHER portrait or landscape
Audio - Poweramp and Bluetooth to PC both work
SMS / MMS - both work
Problems:
- Again, SuperUser would not remember my permissions for System Tuner, but updating SU fixed the issue
- I did not bother to try Antutu Benchmark so that I could accurately compare TEST 1 & 2
- Wifi worked fine at first, but received an error when turning on after bluetooth had been used and then turned off.
- No keyboard issues
- Overall - about the same as TEST 1 for my uses, other than the wifi issue
- Again, I'll be making an nandroid if anyone is curious about Logcats
 
BETA TEST SCORE CARD

ROM: ROM 1 (Test Length: 2 Days and 5 Hours)

3G: (10) Again with most of these newer cm7 roms i have yet to have any issues with 3g, altho internet windows did seem to load a small amount faster on ROM 2

Camera: (9) Camera seemed almost identical to Rom 2, took extremely nice photos

GPS Locks: (10) GPS Test had a lock on me in 3 seconds, google maps had my location within 3 blocks instantly and then within 1-3 minutes had my exact location

Wifi: (9) First start up of wifi caused a force close which never happened again, but in my personal opinion Rom 2 Had an Amazing Wifi on it

MMS: (N/A)

SMS: (10) SMS speed seem like they have been for me alot now lately, amazing, send and recieve happens super fast

Speed: (10) Unquestionable this Rom is much faster and smoother then Rom 2, my ADW launcher almost never ever skips up, at most it may act to sensitive and jump an extra page but thats it

Battery Life: (9) Still the batteries dont last as long as the TG-CM7, but were getting closer, On Rom 2 with normal use i couldnt get past 1 day without needing my charger, Now on ROM 1 its been running for 1.5 days without having to charge it, its still at 25%

Video Performance: (9) Still the portrait flicker but compared to alot of other roms it is much much better, half the time i was getting no flicker in portrait, landscape looks amazing like rom 2, played a 1080P trailer and it looked perfect


Your personal thoughts of the ROM:

For Me Personally i believe ROM 1 is deffinately better then Rom 2 with the exception of Wifi, Wifi in ROM 2 seemed alot better to me

Besides that, i had no random lock screens in Rom 1 Like i did with Rom 2

The Status Bar and Notification Bar tweaks took effect for me immidately in Rom 1, No reboots Needed

I Also am not having the massive maximum Music Volume i Reported in ROM 2, in Rom 1, Everything seems fine

Again Dunno if it was done purposely or not but the Captive or bottom buttons have no vibration feedback


Besides that again Im Loving everything being done by the team and chairshot recently, and since im done both tests i think ill now be moving to the latest MTDEV-CM7 Release lol
