Help Multiple "Phone" Contact groups

Hi. I understand the difference between a "google" and a "phone" contact but I have two "phone" contact options when saving a new contact. One has the phone icon with phone written next to it and the other had the head and shoulders thumbnail with phone and then my name written next to it. Unfortunately I can't post a picture as it is my first post but I was hoping someone could help.

These also show up when I go to my contacts display options. I would just like to know why I have two "phone" areas to save contacts?

Appreciate any feedback.

I've never heard of this happening to anyone, Nathan. Sorry.... all I can suggest is, if they're exact duplicates, exporting one set to SD, deleting both set on the handset, then reimporting from SD. That may fix the issue, but I'm working in the dark tbh.

Hey Slug,

No worries. I think I've worked out what it is. There are no contacts in the offending account, so it is just more of an annoyance of wondering where it's coming from, but when I click on accounts from contacts, it shows me my facebook, whatsapp, google and samsung. So this mysterious 4th account must be from the samsung account. So all I can think is when you add a contact to this account, called "phone" but with the icon of the head and shoulders image rather than the phone (as this is the internal phone account) i tmust save them on the samsung account? I only use google, facebook and whatsapp for my contacts so I shall just continue to ignore the other two phone accounts.

Cheers for the reply though.

This was the screenshot I wanted to post though.

Easy fix

Download contact remover from market

What I did that same problem for weeks, also make sure you save contacts phone and untic auto sync with google / facebook etc

Cheers, but I don't think this is what I need as there is not an issue with contacts per se, just the account, which has no contacts in. As I say, I think this is generated by the Samsung account I signed up for to check for updates. If this contact remover can remove accounts then I will give it a try, but otherwise I will probably just leave it now. It was more that I had no idea where it was coming from.
