Help Multiple problems with Droid X

This is my first time on this site and I am in dire need of help.

I leave for vacation tomorrow and was getting ready to load up my phone with a ton of new music, so I decided to just wipe all the music that is/was on there now. Well I plugged the phone into the computer and went to the necessary file and highlighted all the songs and hit delete. Win7 went through its delete process, and finished successfully... or so I thought.

When I was getting ready to add all my new music in, I got a few songs downloaded before the phone became extremely laggy and slow. Now I have had my various problems with slowness in the keyboard and other various apps, but this time my phone was slow no matter what I was doing. It would freeze after just seconds of operating and I would have to do a battery pull to get the phone to reset, and once the phone turned back on and I tried to operate it again, it froze. This process happened for awhile until the phone reset itself, no battery pull needed.

When it booted back up, the speed was back so I thought everything was alright. I went back to go get my new music, and was astonished to find that every single song I thought I deleted to be back in my music library. It was a true wtf moment...

So, what the heck happened? And how can I for sure delete this music and get my new music in? Keep in mind I leave early tomorrow, and would like it to be a fairly quick process. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Okay I thought the phones speed was back but it keeps freezing. So to recap the phone is freakin slow and the music magically reinstalled itself...

are you at all rooted by any chance?

and what program did you use to install the music?

what version are you on .605? or .621?
