Help Multiple Recipients in texting.

Garconis

Lurker
On my Droid 3 (Gingerbread 2.3) my incoming and outgoing texts were easy to tell if it was sent to multiple recipients. If it was sent to three people, when I went to my list of text messages, I could open the newly received text and see who it was sent to. And if I replied to it, it would reply to all by default. I liked this.

I just received a multiple-recipient message from my friend, but I had no idea it was also sent to my other friend too, without going to the "message details" from the settings menu. And when I reply to the one who sent it, it doesn't go to all.

Is there a way to fix this to tell who it was sent to, and to reply to all?

Phone is Galaxy Nexus with Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.2.

Not sure how to achieve what you want here, but I just want to say, that you would not be "fix"ing anything. It's not broken. The native Google Messaging app has never done this, to my knowledge.

I'm guessing that is part of MotoBlur or whatever they are calling it nowadays. I had it on my D2 but I never used the blur stuff, I used the stock messenger.

To the OP, I'm not sure of a solution, but you could try asking here:
Android Applications - Android Forums or here:
Application Requests - Android Forums

Anyway, good luck:)

I hate this group messaging stuff.
buddy of mine will send out a text to a bunch of us and iPhones have it enabled by default so suddenly I'm getting replies from people I don't even know.

kind of annoying and I'm personally happy that the android messenger doesn't have this built into it.

maybe some 3rd party messaging apps do if you really want to use it again? I'm sure SOMEONE has it built into an app... maybe?

I mainly wanted to know because sometimes one of my friends will send a message to me and a couple others. Firstly, I'd like to know right off that I wasn't the only recipient. I'd also like the option to reply to all, so everyone knows my response. E.g., whether or not I will meet them out.

Guess I just gotta get them to use Google Messenger...not Messaging.

or give groupme a shot. I've been using it for a couple of months. It works great for group text messaging. They have an iphone and android app, both are free. If you use the app, texts come through the app so no SMS counts or charges on your bill. Secondly, if anyone doesnt have the app, messages are delivered to them via sms and all their replies are sent to everyone in the group.
