Help Multiple WLAN ip address issue?

Hi guys,

My WLAN at home uses DHCP and my WLAN at work uses a static IP to connect. My S2 has no problem connecting to the different WLAN's, but it does not remember if the WLAN requires static or DHCP, it just remembers the last setting used.
Therefore every time I switch between WLAN's, I have to manually go into the Advanced settings and select or deselect the "Use static IP" box. Surely the phone is smart enough to do this automatically as my old Nokia could. Can someone please let me know how it's done?

Has anybody else experienced this? I understand most people would never use static IP addresses and therefore would never experience this problem, but none-the-less it is still a problem that exists on this phone.

There's no simple way around this limitation, I'm afraid. You can't configure individual wireless connections as dynamic or static in Android. I don't know why the facility isn't provided; you're not the first to complain about the omission.

I find that a bit of a pain too. Wifi Static looks great, thanks ggmeyer. Going to look at it now.

I just set my home subnet on the same range and keep the fixed Ip addy.

Doesn't help anywhere else but saves the hassle between the two most commonly used for me.
