Help Music Syncing

Lurker
Hi, new user here, HTC Desire.

All my music is stored in itunes. When i first got my Desire i installed the 'HTC Sync' thing onto my laptop, connected my phone via the usb and hit 'sync now'. It downloaded random songs from itunes onto my phone. I've since noticed that it appears to be songs that are in playlists on my itunes.

Obviously i want to be able to choose what songs i put on my phone so i set up a 'htc' playlist in itunes, connected my phone, unticked every playlist except 'htc' and hit sync. Still nothing has happened, the songs that it originally downloaded are still on there and the new ones are nowhere to be seen.

So, next i connected my phone as a mass storage device. I then dragged and dropped some songs onto my phone whilst it was showing as an 'e' drive on my laptop. The afore mentioned random songs weren't on there, or atleast i couldn't see them.

This time, still no sign of my chosen songs and the random songs are still on my phone in the 'music app' mp3 app thing. I have actually found the songs that i chose to put on there using the app 'es file explorer' but i cant move them to the actual music/mp3 app where the random songs are stored.

Does anyone have any ideas how i can sort this out please?

itunes is the root of all evil and you are the victim of them saying "different device and system, gtfo"

what you could do is try and use something like mediamonkey or winamp to archive the files and create playlists and then move them to the device via mass storage to a folder of your choice on the SDcard
