Must have apps?

I run a waterpark so having immediate radar access is what I'm looking for. iMap has some, but can get buggy. No one else has looping radar.

Check out Radar Now for a nice clean looping radar. Between that radar and the stock HTC weather widget I can get all the weather info I need...

These are all great suggestions guys thanks. i am having one problem with handcent tho. on the icon on my home screen it wont say the number of text i have like 1 or 2. any idea y?

Instead of adding a shortcut to the program (+>Program>Handcent SMS), you have to add it as a widget (+>Android widget>Handcent SMS).

I did that. I did a long press on the home screen and selected android widget and added handcent. I am not sure why its not working.

I just have to add swype to the list i posted above. I didn't realize how much faster it is and how great of a job it does. I'm sold.

ASTRO - great file manager (best out there in my opinion)
At Bat '10 - Huge baseball fan, keeps track of EVERYTHING
AudioManager
Barcode Scanner
Bebbled - stupid little addicting game...try it, you'll see why
Bible
Gmote - Allows you to sync with your home computer and stream media...really cool!!!
Goggles (cool, not really a necessity)
GStrings - good tuner, I'm a guitar player
Lookout - Good anti-virus and backup app
MixZing Lite - my favorite music player
UrbanSpoon (only on 2.1) - iPhone made this one famous...picks a restaurant close by...ever have those moments when NO ONE can decide a place to eat??? this helps LOL
Zillow (real estate app) - allows you to browse real estate pricing and homes for sale...even estimated value on your home!

and of COURSE....SWYPE!!!!

What is swype? and I am trying to figure out why my handcent isnt working, but I can not figure it out.

Also I looked for google goggles and could not find it. Does it only work on 2.1 or soemthing? I am running 1.5

Swype is a replacement keyboard, it functions differently but in a good way. Sure you can still tap the keys to input text but with swype you can just swipe your finger across the keyboard quickly and efficently to input text. Take for example the word "text" if you were using the regular keyboard you'd have to push each letter one at a time. With swype you just start with the letter t, drag your finger to e, drag your finger to x and drag your finger back upto t. Viola the word text appears on the screen. You don't even have to be very accurate for it to know what you are trying to type. Its really a much more efficent way of inputting text and explaining it here doesn't do it justice. There is a built in guide that you can launch that will teach you how to input text using it. There is also several youtube videos that show you how its done. You should watch the video of 2 people racing to type in a sentance, one person on an android device with swype loaded and someone else on an iphone. The guy on the android finishes a good 5-6 seconds before the other guy and thats just one sentance. Imagine typing a decent sized email. It also auto spaces for you, so you don't have to keep pushing the space bar when typing the next word, you just start with the first letter and swipe the word in. Imo its well worth money if they charged for it and if it ever does go up for sale i'll be one of the first people to buy it :)

Not a bears fan, or a bulls fan. I actually grew up in michigan but didn't really get into baseball until i moved to illinois. Which is why i'm a cubs fan :) I like the lions, pistons and red wings.

interesting, i too am a cubs fan, and ..... errrr despise the D... how do you mix it?

I grew up in michigan, now don't get me wrong i don't like detroit the city, its a terrible place. But i've always been a lions, pistons and red wings fan due to spending over half my life in michigan. But i was never a big baseball fan until i moved to Illinois. Now i eat, breath and sleep cubs baseball. Its by far my most favorite sport, in fact i'm watching the yankees vs red sox game on mlb network right now as i type this. Its the bottom of the 8th inning, jaba chamberlain is warming up and the yankees have a 1 run lead. Kevin Youkillis just hit a lead off single ;) I hate the yankees even though my neighbor is Joe Girardis aunt. I like joe just not the rest of the team :)

I keep hearing about how wonderful Swype is. But where are you guys finding it? I can't find it in the market, and a couple versions I got from others didn't even work. I would just like to find a copy that works.

Edit: for some reason the above link doesn't work for me. Perhaps it's my work/firewall/blocks etc...

Have anyone tried ShopSAvvy? I think it's WAY better than Barcode scanner

It serves a different purpose than barcode scanner. Barcode scanner to me is just a way of getting to apps and urls quicker using the qr code. Shopsavy is more of a product price comparison app which searches for the best prices available for whatever product you are looking for.
