Does anyone know of an app that will disable the volume rocker on the side of the phone? It is so sensitive that I am always turing the volume completely off! I tried an app that will ask for confirmation of a change being made to the volume but I'd really like one to actually disable the rocker. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I don't know of an app to do that, but a case will fix that problem. I had to exchange some accessories at the VZW store and ended up trading for a body glove case. It's not the best, but I no longer hit the power button or the volume buttons by accident. I was constantly turning my phone off by accident. The Seidio Innocase is nice. :)

I
- Album Art Grabber, it will take care of any missing cover art when you load it up with mp3s and itunes music.

I didn't think Album Art Grabber worked with the INC? I hope it does. Have you installed it, and does it?

Right I think I have all of those now and probably no more room left on my flipping phone - doh!

So while we're at it check out:

Ladbrokes Kickoff - betting app for your android on the World cup. I think it's the first of it's kind.

So while I'm down the pub - i'll be making a few quid :D

Transdroid.... Love to be able to access/add/delete torrents to my running uTorrent on my PC. Great for when I'm out somewhere and remember something I wanted to download. Also great for killing seeds to conserve bandwidth. Just needs to be able to search Demonoid and Pirate Bay and I'll be satisfied.

May as well join the party. Seems like my apps are changing on an hourly basis depending on what I get sick of or decide I need or don't need. Only had the phone a week so I'm still customizing... I think my wife is about ready to kill me. :D

I probably don't use maybe 40% of these on a regular basis, but going from the Eris with 512 MB of internal storage to the Incredible with 8 GB, I don't feel like I should have to continuously uninstall stuff like I did on my Eris. Now I can actually keep stuff on there! WOO!

thirtyfour41's Apps on the phone

I found a prett sweet app the other day for veiwing your webcam remotely. Its call IPcam viewer tyhe lite version allows up to 4 cameras to be configured. You can also use some of the many traffic cams and college cams all for free.

My must have apps are:
Handcent
More customizable sms interface. has popup. more flexible than chompsms.

astro
you will need some type of file browser and this is the best one

app brain
appbrain.com is the best way to discover apps(other than phandroid.com of course) and has a way to sync up with ur phone although it wont automatically install the app

The weather channel
the default htc weather app and widget are nice, but twc app is good for hourly or weekly weather reports

shazam
haven't used it in a real situation yet, but its cool to show off

last.fm
great website and the app has radio and will scrobble

Hello - I am new to the Android OS - but LOVE my new Incredible. I was wondering if anybody knew of an app that would send a text message based on a GPS location. I am a vanpool driver - so should not be texting while driving, but would be great to send a text message to one of my riders as I was approaching her house so that she was ready to go once I got there. Any help would be appreciated!!

TeleNav has an App called OnMyWay that texts parties based on how close you are to arriving to a destination, but Im not sure if it's on Android yet..you might email them

Hi there, Im considering buying an Incredible Android-- can you tell me if overall you are happy with it? I see there are many app's and I was wondering if it could be used for daily activities online in lieu of a laptop? Thank You.

Well, you can use it in lieu of a laptop for most stuff, but I'm not sure it would be as easy. It's just nice I think because instead of spending an hour on the laptop just checking email and daily websites, you can do that during the day in normally wasted allotments of time stuck waiting on other people, meetings, traffic, etc. It's a great phone though, I'd recommend it to any family member or friend.

My favorite apps and biggest time wasters:

Google Earth (hell yeah!!!)
HandyCalc (like a TI in your phone)
Congress (If you live in the US, it's your duty to have this)

HTC Exclusive Widgets I love and haven't been able to replace: Hoping someone clones these when Launcher Pro supports scrolling.

Favorites - scrolling widget that displays contact groups, no annoying setup to have family, friends, etc. Just uses existing groups.

Bookmarks - scrolling widget

Does K9 mail give you a unified inbox?

Apps I use daily:

Handcent
Express News widget
Google Finance widget
JuicePlotter
Tripit
Astrid
Grocery IQ
Poker Log -- my own app, I play a lot of poker :)
