Root my backup root path problems

Never used that app personally, but if you open up the app it should give you some sort of option within it if its anything like titanium

Are you talking app specific paths, or linux paths? Because those could be different issues... I'm guessing it's for the app (haven't heard of anyone having linux path issues)...

I'm guessing it's the SD card location, in which case I find it's easier to find things on the sd card by using a computer. (or terminal... if you're cli savvy).

Also, I am not familiar with that app either.

My backup root before wipe saved to one place/path the newly installed my backup isn't searching the same place on the as card for the files.

I don't even know what Cli stands for but i use Ubuntu so its easy to search sd via gui

Okay, cli is command line interface, ie Terminal.

I was just wondering if you meant the $PATH or the apps path to the directory, which it seems is the case.

Well, I'd personally search through the sd card looking for anything changed in the timeline of the last my backup root use. Or any directory that looks like it could be for backups.

Also, since you're on linux, from the command line you could try this (when you're in the SD card)...
Code:
ls -R | grep "$" # replace $ with the file type of the backup (if you know it),
#else you could try something like grep "backup" or grep ".apk" which will
#find .apk files, I think TB saves .apk files if you tell it to,
#so maybe that program does to?

ok so i just played around with mybackup root. and on the main menu is restore then it will ask you where do you want to restore it from local (/mtn/sdcard) or online. if you select local it should find your backup. what does it do when you select it? if it cannot find it, then did you rename or delete the folder? the backup is found on your card under folder name rerware and in the sub folder AllAppsBackups. in that folder you should see your backup and it should be named AppsMedia_2011_12_09 or whatever date you made one.

Yeah it doesn't find it unfortunately.

if it cannot find it, then did you rename or delete the folder?

No I can find the file it is just not where the app looks for it. Why would the app save it in one place and then look for it in another? That just doesn't make any sense to me. It's not like it is an updated version. I dl'd the app to make the backup then installed the new rom, reinstalled the app less than an hour later and it doesn't know where it saved the file.

the backup is found on your card under folder name rerware and in the sub folder AllAppsBackups.

That is where it looks for the file but not where it saved the original.

in that folder you should see your backup and it should be named AppsMedia_2011_12_09 or whatever date you made one.

I moved the 12-8 backup to the location that mybackup was looking for it via my laptop. Now it is in the drop down list and when I select it I get this error message.

Error:
I/O error: unable to write to SD Card. Make sure the SD Card is inserted properly and is not connected to your PC ans is not full

The evo is not connected to pc, it is inserted properly, and it isn't full.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

weird. well i googled your error and it seems that this is specific to mybackup pro. there are several things you can try.

1. copy the content of your card to your computer and then reformat the card and see if that helped.

2.make a nandroid backup of mikg. then nandroid back to froyo and download titanium backup and its pro key(not free, but well worth the money) and make a backup with tb. then nandroid back to mikg and restore through tb.

Thanks, I'll let you know how that goes.

Yeah I have TB pro. I was using my backup for my internet bookmarks and something else I'm not remembering at the moment.
